Monkey mascot acceptable in 2021?

QUOTE="SideWinder, post: 35207329, member: 26170"]Yes very true - see this angle. :)

I am curious to know if the OP is purely hypothetical or whether we will find out more information about the promotion.

On a related note, until you listed the animals, I had no idea there were so many 'linked' to attributes/characteristics of a person...! I am aware of all them but not seen them listed. :)[/QUOTE]

There are dozens, vixen, toad, gorilla, snake, ass, bat et cetera.

Urgh I would say avoid it. If its something that "may" cause offence, it will.
are you the monkey or the organ grinder? I bet you work for peanuts.

A trained monkey could do your job.

probably all racist even though none of them have anything to do with black people.

The problem is education, and not with us

Sigh I looked at the reply then saw who said it. Not even going to bother.

you posted that out loud

Oh no.

But to be honest, yes I do agree it is down to education. Curveball thought, should there be specific lessons at school about race and gender equality? Maybe there are and I don't know about it. I know we have RE/Religious Studies which focuses on the beliefs of many religions but would it focus enough about race and gender?

Someone please do correct me if we do have this or if its covered in another subject.

we have a lot more in common than race, ethnicity or gender.
seems old fashioned to try and divide us into groups and distract us from the bigger picture.

but there must be a lot of money in it so...

didn't the american BLM women buy a couple of mansions the other month? also it's easy material for the media rather than actual reporting/journalism that takes proper effort.

the whole thing comes across like a power struggle to be top dog tbh and dictate how everyone else should live their lives.

there's no real discussion, debate or compromise allowed?

The whole worlds gone to crap tbh, Facebook gets called out for promoting fear/hate content.

yet the mainstream news channels and tabloids mastered the art decades ago... somehow it's different for them.

any racism is probably due to the News tbh, everyone was a black guy on a moped snatching your purse, all muslims were terrorists, all asians were having sex with your under age kids etc.

the media report stuff like it's common practice in every local area even if it's a few isolated incidents.

because fear and hate sells and gets people hooked wanting more.

then oh suddenly everyones a bit racist I wonder why

they kinda got manipulated/brainwashed into that mind set.

It's not all men but we don't know which ones... comes to mind recently after a fear campaign.

was that not the exact same logic behind modern racism? Media Influenced Irrational Phobia

Monkey is nothing compared to the white supremacy of the Unicorn though, which is I feel is much bigger issue and not taken seriously enough. The amount Small girls throughout the world are being brainwashed by such vile imagery it`s astounding its not front page news in the magazine in the guardian at the weekend.
