Assuming you've just reached the Research Base, the crashed airship, for the first time.
You need to do an expedition into the Coral Highlands (just go to that area without picking any missions) and have to do two things there to progress the story:

- Find a Tzitzi-Ya-Ku - it generally roams fairly close to the start area of that map, if you take a right at the very beginning you'll be near it's path.
- Locate somewhere for a new campsite, should be area 12 on the map (head right from the landing point at the far south of the map, on the right path, ignore the first right and climb the second one to the big open area and climb the big wall to your right once more, once up top take a left and halfway down that path you'll hopefully notice a hole in the wall that you can climb through)
