Monster system check please

what I will need is help when built how to safely maximise the over clock!

As you overclock you will need to test for stability as you go by running Prime95 or intel burntest, then moving on to a higher speed and checking again.

I think we are at the stage that all thats needed is to sort the ram out,

also do i need any fan control pannel or anything extra for the water cooling on the link you sent me for the 800d water cooled?

need some lighting for case, and cable ties and maybe something to sheave the cables in?

open to ideas? I do like uv blue

other than the coil whine? complaints what's wrong with the ax1200? jonhyguru gave it almost unanimous high marks across the board.

a competitor has the seasonic p1000 for £224, so seasonic or xfx version which to get?

I know we're not ment to mention competitors but ocuk don't do seasonic own branded psu just rebadged models(e.g the corsair ax750/850), so the point is more would buy (if you had the option) seasonic or rebadged(I.e seasonic p1000 or the xfx 1kw),

Seasonic>Flextronics all day long, also he asked for the most efficient, which would be a Platinum PSU.

And why have coil whine at all?

i have been reading up on the sesonic 1000 one and it sounds perfect.

what are the limitations of a 1000 wat psu? in regards to gpus? and cpu I probebly wont go to tri sli and will keep 2 580gtx and over clocked 3960

have i got good margins on this 1000 wat psu

also its on pre order, so hope it comes in on time 25/11/11. Im on holiday for a week so cant build till then

stulid could you answer the question regarding the seasonic p1kw vs the xfx 1kw? I was editing it into my last reply as you were replying to it.

Same thing with a different badge, buy what ever is cheapest and in stock. I havent looked if the warranty length is different between them.

edit, its 5 years for the XFX and 7 for the seasonic.

850W+ is about right for SLi GTX580's and a average sandybridge build, 1000W will just mean you can add shed loads of drives/fans etc (the water pump also for example)

Its also good to run a PSU at 50-60% load for best efficiency.

what about the warranty issue? how are xfx with rmas should you need to in say a couple of years?

I have 6yr old seasonic s12 600w still going strong(in a pc downstairs that my 4yr old niece uses, sister and her husband also use it, built it with spare parts I had) and a ~3 1/2yr old corsair hx620(in my current pc), not had any issues with either of the two thus far. have a coolermaster real power m850 but that has spent most of the past 4yrs 'gathering dust' as the pc I used it in wouldn't work properly and I never spent too mcub time trying to sort it out, will be using the cm psu in the new i2500k pc once I get the motherboard sorted as I'm going 6950 xfire but thinking about trifire in the future so looking at 1kw psu.

Well we cant help you as any linking to competitor etc is against forum rules.

edit.. Just to add I've had a look around and its (4X8GB kits) on pre-order.

Seasonic s12 600w still powers my rig, seems like I've had it forever :D
