I went with another C8 in the end. The Q80R they had in store looked like garbage.

Good choice imo. I like Samsung TVs but I think they're too expensive at each model, they're a bit like the Asus of the TV world.

Light blooming would probably annoy me no end on a FALD TV. I'd rather have a TV with not so good black levels rather than one that has inconsistent black levels.
