More BBC propaganda!

Should I be donning the old tinfoil hat or running around flailing my arms in panic?

I need some advice because right now I don't realy give a crap.

The point of the article is neutritional value and that there is little to no differance between organic and non organic food, which makes sense.

Pesticides don't make vegitables less healthy as they are, they still provide exactly the same good stuff, the only differance is you get miniscule amounts of pesticides with it, which unless you are some raging hippy, make no differance what so ever.

Only thing is it tastes nicer :).

I was surprised that even the woman on radio wales yesterday arguing in favour of organic food didn't mention this. Nearly all of my vegetables are either grown in my garden or from a farm in mid wales, all seasonal and organic, and all infinitely more tasty than the tesco offerings!

I totally agree with the report, I honestly do.

That said though it wont make me go back and start eating fruit and veg that we haven't either grown ourselves or sourced locally for the simple reason that it tastes better. But from a nutritional pov I don't find it hard to believe at all.

certainly not propaganda though, all they've done is report the result.

Thats probably because they are actualy fresh, I used to get fruit/veg from a village shop that got everything the very morning it was taken out of the ground, and this is from a farmer who supplied supermarkets, it always tasted much nicer.

Nothing like looking for conspiracies everywhere! Seriously, if the BBC was evil and trying to spread malicious propaganda I'm sure they'd have more important things to do than try to destroy the organic food industry. It sounds very plausible that the benefits of organic food are negligible - I've always thought it's sounded mostly like an excuse to charge more. I always get the cheapest fruit and veg and I don't seem to be suffering any ill effects yet.

Well research that has been carried out by an organisation without a biased agenda.

What do you think is wrong with the research? Please note your own opinion counts for nothing, something scientific.

To anyone with an intellectual capacity greater than that of a peanut can see that organic food must be better than food that has been sprayed with chemicals! No study is needed, if you believe this twaddle then drink a glass of pesticide and then come back an argue you feel good.

Well that's that then. How can anyone argue with such logic?

Personally i'm going to carry on buying Organic food, things like tomatos taste so much nicer, fair enough the amount of chemicals used might be low but but injecting cows with things to force them to grow faster and produce more milk can't be a good thing.

where does this idea that farmers don't use pesticides on their organic crops come from?

According to the FSA's own guidelines there's plenty of bug-nuking chemicals you can use and still call it organic.
