More jealousy.

Would the car go to Audi factory for a whole fresh "off the line" respray/refurb or will it simply be done at a dealer?

I'm not really sure but from a video i watched of a car beings sprayed in the factory it was just a bare shell. Might be different for different cars though but i don't think a factory would have the time to mask it all up etc. Plus i think the paint is baked on in a factory. I think it'll be a dealer jobbie.

Get it back to the factory for a proper factory respray and not some half witt in a spray booth in a dealership is what I mean.

Saying that Ford dealership did a rather nice job on my respray the paint match was pretty spot on but it did still have to go back for certain things which raged me

All it needs is the colour code for it to be exactly the same. It will most likely go back to the dealer to ensure it is done right and to prolong the manufacturer paint warrenty. I highly doubt it will go back to the factory.

always check work before signing to get the car back.

Does it really matter [TW]Fox why or who damaged the car. Your attitude really grinds my gears at times.

Your remark about Audi's being 10 a penny so to speak, what was the need to say that?

You would be very difference if it was your car that was damaged and people starting deriding your purchase.

Then add me to your ignore list and you need not read my posts in future.

People seemed to think it was done purely becuase they were jealous - I was merely providing an opinion.

I would be absolutely devestated if it was my car, but I wouldn't think it was becuase people were jealous of it. Becuase, like that Audi, it is not an exotic car or the sort which breeds jealousy. I just think there is more to it, thats all. As do a few others it would seem.

I'm not denying for one minute that it's an absolute tragedy and i think its disgusting people do this - WHATEVER the reasons they think they have for doing it. I hope, if caught, they are justly punished.

But this is a discussion forum so there is no reason we can't comment on possible causes or the concept of spending quite that much on an A4 2.0 TDI, especially as the price features quite strongly in the description of what happened and the reason a lot of people assume it was jealousy :)

If somebody did that to my car I would hunt them out and pound them to within an inch of their lives.

That is disgraceful.

Anyone know what's likely to happen with this? Insurance new car? Respray?

The thing i find when people do stuff like this is, they'll mostly always come back for a look at what they have done, if you watch long enough they will return. Just like when some teens stole my quad out of the garden and couldnt get it to start, so they burned it on the front. I left it there for a day or two and watched, I now know who it was and where they live.
Now all i'm waiting for is the day they get their first car.

Whilst I absolutely don't condone vigilantism as it makes you as bad as they are I cannot say I will shed a tear when you come to the forum with news of the untimely demise their first car meets :D

I haven't read the rest of the thread and in no way do I think what they have done is acceptable, its a nice car and doesn't deserve that however, are these people so up themselves that they always assume that 'its because they are jealous'?

It could be for any number of reasons, he could be shagging someones missus, he could drive like a complete **** and has ****ed someone off, it could be for something as simple as shouting at someone for being near his car!

Is it because they drive an expensive car so they must be higher up than others on the social ladder automatically making those below jealous? I would be extremely ****** about it if it was my car, it just makes me chuckle when people jump to the same conclusion about why over and over!

You know what you have to do.

This is ocuk, everyone has six bentleys and nine cousins with M3s.

The way he goes on about it being an "OMG 35k motor" says a lot about the type of person he is i think.

A guy got the same thing on the bonnet of his corsa in the parking spaces infront of our house, then his wing mirror was kicked off. He ****** someone off apparently. Corsa aint in the same league as an upmarket taxi but it still applies.

:D!

Make it subtle at first. But not something that would endanger other road users ;)
