More jealousy.

If some-one did that to my car I would quite happly do 6-12month in jail for paralzing them in return!

Boot into the small of the spine would do that and they would be face down and unconscious. As long as you get rid of the shoes/boots you were wearing nobody would ever know (providing there weren't cctv cameras around).

Why I wouldnt ever hide the fact I take justice into my own hands!

Apparently its good looking yet a bit rubbish to drive. They've tried to make it more like a BMW and feel more 'sporty' whilst not realising that most people buy Audi's becuase they are NOT BMW's..

Oh dear Audi :(

Of course it is! it is meant to compete with the equivalent 3 and 5 series!
You can't deny it looks pretty good compared to equivalent BMW?

I just tried to spec up a £35k A4 2.0 TDI and it isnt easy and is made even harder by the fact his has solid paint and no full leather but I managed it - just - but only by ticking the wacky and pointless stuff like Lane Assist and stuff.

£4k more than a 3.0 TDI S-Line..

On the referenced thread he says ""My CCTV found a few outlines of people lurking in the shadows but they managed to keep out of frame."

How many of you guys have a CCTV system installed?, to me this suggests a history of trouble and also why I said you never really know the whole story in these situations.

I know people with CCTV cameras that are absolutely fine. He is probably a good lad, but by looking at the pictures of the estate he lives, I can tell why has happened. It's the kind of place where you need a CCTV to feel safe!!!

What I will do...

Repair the car
Sell the car
Sell the house
Buy another one in a nice part of the city
Buy the car again

I'd definetely have to sell a car like that after a respray repair.

It won't ever be the same again IMO. :(

Sell it after repair and then start again.

Of course it'll be the same, what a silly thing to suggest :p

You'd sell a brand new car with 500 miles on it and lose probably £5-£10k becuase 'its had a respray'?

Nope won't feel the same, I've had my car sprayed after an accident and it never felt quite right. I wouldn't want the car back tbh but maybe that's just my OCD :p

Doesn't. I was constantly looking for differences in the paint and it did my head in. Couldn't give a toss now since it's not a 35k Audi but if I had just plummed 35k on a new Audi I would want fresh from the factory line paint/car and not some car which has had to go to a dealer to have a respray..

It would feel tainted in some way :p

The problem is having spent £35k on a 2.0 TDI it will depreciate like a brick into a lake and be worth at best £25k used given most of the stuff making up the silly price is obscure options most people dont care about.

So selling it to buy another = not clever.

It'll be a full respray anyway so there wont be any difference in paint colour. I'm guessing he is the kind of guy who wont accept it back until its spot on.

I guess but it would be very hard to live with it and appreciate it as it did when it came from the factory. :(

Would the car go to Audi factory for a whole fresh "off the line" respray/refurb or will it simply be done at a dealer?

Stuff having it done at a dealership, I don't trust them anymore never have done really. I'd send the bugger back.
