I've finally had enough and need to let off some steam

How can a player of his pedigree be so utterly crap ?

Is it that the English game doesn't suit him , possibly that he's only here for the pay cheque or has he bee overrated all along

I was really excited when he arrived but he has been an utter waste of space

any thoughts ?

I've always thought he was overrated. Was unsure when he came over here, thought maybe his presence might count for a bit more in the Premiership, but alas no. Twighlight of his career too.

A poor Signing by Rafa and he knows that and still can not believe Cisse is not playing infront of Morientes he has not scored in 9Games

I just can not believe Rafa said this yesterday "I left Morientes on because I wanted to see him score. It is important for his confidence and I think he and Crouch play well together." Him and Crouch dont play well It should be Crouch and Cisse

Nando is not an out an out goalscorer, he spends the majority of his time outside the box, linking up play.

Some of the chances he's missed have been unbelievable, i was in the kop end against Arsenal, and i don't think it's just me thats losing patience, he just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

For the united game, he looked good on the ball and playing alongside crouch, but still he failed to look a threat.

I think i agree with Rotty, Rafa needs to bite his tongue and let ride any grudge he has with Djib, and give him the chance he needs down the middle, not on the right. Djib has noway near the technical ability of nando though which is why it is equally frustrating, but he looks more of a threat than nando, even though he's lazy (but then again they both are)

This has to be our worst strikeforce in 40 odd years, nando, cisse are definately not up to the crack. (Keegan, Toshack, St John, Fowler, Owen, Dalglish anyone?)

*edit* I believe if we can get robbie fit, he should be fowler-crouchie up top.

Morientes was horible against City - and was walking to the line before he realised Crouch was to make way instead. He doesn`t seem to know what his role is - playing almost as a poor-main`s Litmanen, never in front of Crouch. Without a bit of nip to get forward for Crouch`s flick Liverpool cant seem to get the ball into the box from the centre, it has to go to the wings. Morientes doesn`t go to the front post, Crouch cant get any power on a header once he leaves the floor, so this route of attack is failing also.

Fowler is too slow to reach flick on`s, Cisse to stupid to work out where the ball will land. Can`t see who else can fill the role until they buy in the summer. Would still hope that Cisse and Crouch might have a little run together. Miracles etc.

Only bright light from City game was Agger, who seems to be a good boss at the back. Hypia`s natural replacement and with more skill/vision.

The crowd were pretty unhappy when he took Crouch off,so i'm guessing most of them have had enough of Morientes too. Most of his game is not too bad,if a little slow, what is startling tho is his pitiful attempts at goal when he does get a chance, his 2 gilt edged chances vs ManC and ManU ended up being feeble passes to the goalie. Then that one they highlighted on motd2 where he had a perfect ball coming to him in the box and instead of letting it past to run on to a one on one with the goalie he turned his back to goal and headed it back out of the box

Morientes and Crouch, goal scoring machines.

I hate to say it, but Nando just hasn't 'clicked'. I'm not sure why Benitez insists on keeping him on for full games when it's clear that Cisse would have a better chance of scoring (and yes, I know that's not saying much!)

He has been on the ball a lot in the last couple of games that I've been to, but he's not doing his job. He seems lacklustre and virtually clueless in front of goal. I think Rafa's got his fingers crossed there's a Crouch-esque breakthrough in the next few games but I'm not sure at all.

Crouch had been annoying the crap out of me lately, he may have scored against United, but he gave away several stupid fouls (i mean why does he have to climb consistently when corners are taken, he's about 11ft 8 for christs sake!) and ruined several good kicks we had around the area or ended up giving them a goal kick. We need someone and we need someone soon. It's frustrating as hell watching us at the moment, and the only one who seems to have turned a corner 100% for me is Kewell. Cant believe people are talking about getting rid in the summer  that makes sense. Pay his wages for years for nothing then when he starts really showing promise, lets bin him. Madness.

Edited to say: Agger made a horrendous back pass yesterday - shades of Traore creeping in there. Kronkamp kept losing out on passes too. Silent as the grave at Anfield yesterday, you could hear the players shouting instructions to one another from the top of the upper terrace (where we were). Depressing tbh.

^ Got to agree with most of that. It really annoys me to see how poor Crouch is at attacking headers. He very rarely gets in front of his man and seems to prefer bum raping them instead which always leads to a foul. On the few occasions that he doesn't commit a foul he heads the ball wide or over the target. Other than that, I don't think there's much more he can do. His touches are always first class, as is his link up play but he can't do much with the service he's been getting lately. I just wish he would learn how to head a ball cleanly.

Edit: I actually agreed with a few of the comments on MOTD2 last night. Our strikers do a lot of defensive work but neither have the speed to break forward when we turn defense in to attack. They both also play far too deep. I don't know if this is just the system Benitez employs or the players.

we dont have any pace up front. The closest we get to it is Garcia who on his day is a class player, but he's having a lot of 'off' days at the moment. Saying that he's one of my best players right now, plays his guts out and really troubles the opposition.

Bit of a mystery to me, I thought Morientes was a great buy at the time - a good all-round forward, who was strong, decent in the air, accurate finishing and no slouch either - I thought he was made for the English game really. And as for Europe, well. the season before he joined Liverpool, he was the top scorer in the Champions League playing for an 'average' team, for heavens sake.

However I think that now that he's been given the benefit of the doubt for over a year, people are starting to lose patience. For whatever reason, it's just not happening for him, and his finishing has been woeful (presumably why Benetiz signed Fowler). There's no doubt in my mind that in theory, he's a more talented player than Crouch, but his performances just don't match his reptuation.

Wouldn't suprise me to see him sold back to the continent in the summer while he's still worth something, and the funds used to bring in another striker (maybe Cisse shown the door too to finance a real big name).

^ I will disagree with that :D I dislike Garcia as much as I dislike Traore. I've always been taught to do the basics first, and get stuck in, and the show boating second. He never seems to play the simple ball. He always trys little flicks and it makes me mad. Everytime he gets the ball I panic. I just don't trust him. He's the type of player I enjoy breaking, week in week out, whenever I play football.

I dont rate either Crouch or Morientes, or Cisse.
Their problem isnt confidence or settling in, they just plain and simply lack ability.

Cisse was supposed to be a goal machine when he was bought, but he is all pace and no skill.* (4 goals no assists)

Morientes has a poor first touch, is terrible in the air, has no pace, cant pass, is weak on the ball, he doesnt know when to set off on his runs, cant finish....... ( Goals 3 assists 2)*

Crouch is poor in the air, has no pace, although he is competant with the ball at his feet with his back to goal, he isnt good enough at it to warrent his extended run in the side (only figures i can find suggests he has 3 league goals and a whole 2 assists)* and to top it all off, he simply isnt a goal scorer.

The fact that the midfield is scoring freely (for a midfield) is rather papering over the facts that the liverpool strikers are rubbish.

I really like Garcia. He's good to watch and he doesn't panic under pressure. I'm getting more and more fed up with Crouch though, he just doesn't have it imo.

In fact watching us is bad, cos it's like it gets to the midfield then.....nothing.
