Mormons

- It was only invented 180 years ago buy a guy who claims to have translated a book he was directed to by Jesus: The Book of Mormon. - Deeper than that, he claims to have found missing scripture.

- No sexual activity of any kind or self-pleasuring before marriage - That's fundamental Christianity.

- You have to donate 10% of your income to the church - That's Old Testament tithing, it's preached in most mainstream denominations but isn't actually Christian.

- You have to, for two years, become a missionary whereby you pay £6,000 to take on another name, not see your family for that time and have a target of recruiting 4 other people to the faith per year - It's a cult, no different than Jehovah's witnesses.

If you're going to post give some respect to our resident Mormon who has already explained what you posted quite a while ago.

I would if it wasn't a load of trollop.

It's not.

Edit; well....the religion may be but my comments on it are not.

As an aside having watched the video the misrepresentation started right from the beginning, it seems to show us performing nazi style salutes and the narrator insists we are saluting our prophet which is utter rubbish, the scene actually depicts our bi-annual general conference in which we raise our arm in a sustaining vote of the senior offices and officials of the church, persistency, 12 apostles, quorum of the 70, the bishop and bishopric of the church and so on in order. This is repeated in all local units for each of the local officials who are all unpaid.

See, isn't it so much more boring when you remove the blatant media spin put on my religion :)

Do you know them two in the picture I posted?
Just wondering.

Nope, the only reason I know the guy in the c4 video is because he was part of the stake (or group of churches) on the south coast where I lived. I was serving as the executive secretary to the stake president at the time which meant I travelled a lot between the wards (churches) and got to know the local members

I forgot, they left me a card.
Looks like the LDS are in the 21st century

And only 150,000 of them in the UK :( this is a shame because they'd fit right in. We like quirky and unnoticeable.

Instead we get millions of the shouty, annoying one that no one else in Europe wants either.
#UKsuckers

Christians aren't that bad!

I rewatched that Mormon singles beach party video last night,
Felt kind of sorry for them that there is such pressure to marry early when there is such a limited number to choose from.
And those guys were so boring too, and dressed like their Dad.

There was a Latin teacher at this party who was actually the most interesting and intelligent guy there, but he was totally blanked by all the ditzy blonde Mormon girls.
I'd like to suggest our own secular dating events are less superficial, but really they are exactly the same.
