I normally work the late shift, finding at 1am. But tonight I'm on nights, finishing at 7am.

Is it socially to have a can when I get home?

my rule is your shift dictates, if you would normally have a couple on a evening then its your evening when you finish work, most other lads i have worked with done the same

I think the accepted practice for morning drinking is on your nearest tube train.

I'm in Oldham, it would take me about three hours to get to the underground :(

I'm a lightweight. A couple worlds leave me drunk lol. Usually just have one hobgoblin on a Friday night.

to be honest why do you care what everyone thinks ?

you finish work do what you will and to hell with what people who dont work the same hours as you think.

i currently work tues wed thur 2200-845, so i can relate. but seriously do what YOU want not what people who work 9-5 think you should do. as long as you can look after your responsibilities enjoy yourself.

Having done more than my fair share of nights the only reason i have never came home to have a can is purely that when i get in my kids would be getting up for me it just wouldn't feel right cracking open a can while they eat cereal if it was just me and misses i would have a couple before i get some sleep but then again watching me eat roast dinner while they have breakfast is pretty odd so im not sure if they would have cared about a beer

I often see people in the town centre during my morning walk with cans of special brew and that's before 07:30.

Go for it.

When I finished at 7am the last thing on my mind was to have some alcohol :-\ no idea how people do it. I was already in zombie state.

I used to when I finished my last night shift, however if you do plan to sleep after it remember you'll wake up every hour or so for a pee. I ditched the idea of it years ago. Much prefer an uninterrupted sleep!

Do whatever you want.

If you've just come home from work, why not.
I have one when I come home from work. I finish at 6pm, you finish at 7am. Doesn't really matter does it?

I used to have a bottle or two when I did nights, but it left me feeling very weird and groggy. If you like it, do it.
