morning rant

Got something to rant about this morning vent it here!

I opened a bank account with barclays a year ago was told in 6months i could have a proper card i can use in stores etc.. Been trying ever since but failed on credit checks. Last week i managed to get an appeal as ive kept my normal account and savings account in very good order. Today two letters arive from the bank, first is telling me they have recieved my application for a new barclays account the second telling me my request has been declined!!! For all reasons it says "We can not offer you the account you requested because you are under 18" now for the reaaaally annoying part :mad:

I gave them my DOB to verify it was me the other day im 22 in a few months!!!!!!! Now i gotta try and go through all this again its driving me nuts

As you're 22, when you opened the account a year ago you should have got a VISA debit card straight away (over 18). Why not?

Simple - go with someone else.

I would suggest HSBC

They've always been pretty good to me.

You have no idea the hassle i had trying to open a bank account with HSBC because i didnt have a passport and no bills in my name! I got turned away 5x even tho i went in with as much possible stuff i could with name and address on :mad:

They didnt even make an effort to help me and was rude and obnoxious

R5Rich, that's to be expected. You need ID and confirmation of address to open a bank account.

Anyone else? *straightens tie*
