Morrowind 2011

I've been choking to replay morrowind for ages and was looking about for mods and stuff today and then i came across this, score!

Wow, this looks really blinding. I never played Morrowind but am a big fan of Oblivion. You're thread has inspired me to give it a go and I'm now gonna try and pick myself up a copy and install these mods!

ive gotto say i thought the way that morrwind implemented vampires was much better than oblivion, Plus i absolutely loved the werewolves. All in all morrowind was a much better and more engrossing game than Oblivion, however i still prefered the Oblivion combat system. :)

Nice one, I've had Morrowind GOTY on Steam for a while but have been waiting for a 'compilation mod' to grab my attention before playing.

Just hope it doesn't mess with the gameplay or difficulty too much, I got that Pahncrd's mod for Oblivion (like 12-16GB or something?) which was nice but just changed the gameplay too much for my liking and I didn't have the energy to keep toggling mods on/off to see which ones I didn't like.

I think one of the dangers with fan-made mods is that they are invariably made by experienced players of the game and thus tend to make the game more difficult.

Meh, can't find my old cd's :(. Will keep an eye out for it going cheap I guess. Wasn't it really cheap on Steam not so long ago? (not the xmas sale).

EDIT:

Meh! £3.25 in June.

Yeah dirt cheap, like 75% off whatever price it is right now.

I guess they'll reduce it again before too long.

This mod compilation is taking a while to download, average speed around 25kb/sec.

One hell of an instruction list though:)

I get the free time this weekend, it'll be scratcher head.

Morrowinds just too good to ignore, it's one of a very few games in recent years that gripped me till the ohh my it's 3am:o

Edit - I did know about this. A compilation of all the nice mods out there. Ahwell.

I loved morrowind so much, had some nice addon content as well. Liked it so much more than oblivion.

But one thing that really gets me, isn't it about time people stopped ****ing about with graphic mods and texture packs? We should be playing this online by now! Even 2-4 player co-op would be nice. Just something to help me show off my sexy daedric armor and my house I spend 5 hours decorating for no reason what so ever!

Hmm, sorry to disagree but I'd hate to play this or Oblivion online, its just not that sort of game, and graphic mods make a game so much better to play. I have recently discovered the Cinematic mods for Half Life 2 and as a result am playing the game all the way through again from the beginning and loving it because it feels like a modern game again.

Graphic mods(for old, and even new games)are great.

Are there still Cliff Racers in it?

If so then **** that ****. It's a fantastic game but those mobs make me want to commit genocide!

Aw come on, it would be ace with someone with you. Now I'm not saying you could just somehow just bang some multiplayer into it, the game would have to be crafted around it, but imagine strolling through a valley, whistling as you walk, to have a cloud of arrows descend on you :D

I can guarantee that if they did an online TES, it would likely be ****, but I like to dream. Have done since first stepping off the boat all those years ago, stealing that stupid elves ring from a tree :P

Do it! It'll feel a bit odd at first compared to Oblivion due to there not being so much voicing, but give it a chance, it's a huge, amazing game and really rewarding to play (and I imagine it'll be gorgeous with those mods...)

I'd like to have another play through but I have so much going on at work, and so much study to do that it'll turn me into a hermit if I start a new game... :(

Shame there's no clever mod to change MW's combat system. Agreed that Oblivion is much easier for combat (that's about the only plus, though). I must have spent hundreds of hours playing Morrowind - it was one of the few games that my old laptop could handle without any trouble so I played it a lot while travalling :)

So tempting to hunt down my discs and give it a whirl again. But I've already got Dragon Age & The Witcher to get through, argh! RPG overload :(.

I still have to play through some of the DA:O DLC stuff (completed the OC), and then I need to play DA:A... At the moment I'm playing through the NWN2 OC which is epic, and there are 2 other campaigns after that! :o

Oh, and I bought the Witcher in the Steam sale too, so I know the feeling.... real RPG overload, but I really do love these games - loads of depth :) This is why I love PC gaming.. I can't imagine playing this stuff on a console!
