Morrowind is coming to Skyrim’s game engine - Skywind

Would love to see this come out but lets face it, its going to take years and in the end it wont be finished as the modder will have lost interest, it wont work properly, it will be full of bugs and there will be zero support for it.

Converting the original game assets unfortunatly will leave Bethseda/ZeniMax little choice but to issue a cease and desist (otherwise they risk setting a precedent which could hinder them taking other action against copyright). If he was reproducing them from scratch and making something loosely based on the original he might get away with it, making use of the original game assets will reduce that chance.

they already said ages ago they wont allow any content from there older games as a mod for skyrim

Can they not get round this by building a converter that requires you to have the original game files, like in Morroblivion? Morroblivion was great, but I was too used to the Skyrim controls by the time it came out!

As much as i'd love a full port and this to be completed, i dobut very much this will see the light of day as anything more the a rough BETA. It will either take as long as Black Mesa and/or get a C&D within months of getting finished

Morroblivion saw the light of day, no doubt this will use Morrowind assets and require both games to play, so it probably wont get a C&D. Hopefully...

This is one of those mods that you know is never going to be complete.

Honestly, there are enough Morrowind mods out there to keep that game looking fresh and enjoyable to play.

I don't know what everyone is seeing in that mod either, it doesn't look that spectacular. There were better compilations out already.

There is a Morrowind that runs in the Oblivion engine i have not tried it but its meant to be mostly working with being able to complete the main quest.

Still it would be nice in skyrim's engine.

Pretty sure it runs pretty poor, well did last time I tried it maybe it works better now but I had very low FPS with it for some reason.

Holy render distance batman

i'll confess [fully expecting the hate that will be received] but I bought morrowind having not played it in it's day and found the time shock just too much, mostly the render distance [or lack of]. if this doesn't involve the original gui and really looks that good it'll get me to actually play it for sure
