I have moss growing on the stones outside my baywindow.

I want to paint the stones and make them look all pretty.

I scraped all the moss off 6 months ago but it came back.

Is there a reason why it came back? Or should I just scrape it all off and paint over it quickly?

I've just scrapped it off again but this time I poured boiling hot water all over it. To drown/burn/kill whatever might be causing it.

I'll see how that goes.

But if it starts to come back again... suggestions?

What are the forums coming to? Not one person has suggested rubbing mustard on it yet.

I'm not trying to grow faical pubic hair.

Damp... are you sure? It's like on the windowsill outside the brickwork looks perfect and the wallpaper on the inside is perfect. The moss has been there for like 1.5 decades.

Maybe it just likes your walls then :p
Its just in my experience it likes slightly moist places. We have none on the brick work on our house but our garden wall which gets wet a lot has some.

The brickwork will be damp. moss only lives where it is damp. Bricks are porous. They are supposed to be (thats why houses have damp proof courses).

Get moss killer, stop water getting on the brickwork, or get it out of the shade so the sun dries it.
