May i ask how much these are because im currently paying £26.00 for dailys and i think i like the idea of continuous wear

I wear ciba vision Focus Day and Night continuous wear lenses. I've worn them for at least 5 years now and they have been really comfortable. not the cheapest unfortunately, around 25-30 a month depending where you get them from.

I use focus dailies but would like to try another brand.

I guess as long as they are the same as my dailies (8.6/13.8) then I should be ok. Problem is i've seen a few with different specifications.

im not sure thats true..if so all contact lenses would come in all specs..but they dont..so even the same company will use different specs for different lenses....at the end of the day its what you are comfortable with...

The extended wear lenses are very comfortable. They are desgined to let a load more oxygen through the lense to keep your eye breathing, this makes wearing them for 30 days continuous barely noticeable.

Personally I would never go for laser treatment as there are just too many unknowns. Things can go wrong that can affect your vision, such as halos, glare, poor night vision etc. Also the long term affects (15+ years etc) aren't really known. As a pilot I just can't risk any of these things happening to my vision as it would mean the end of my career.

I tried a few, boots own brand seemed ok, repacked focus daily lenses.

So, I ordered a box online, focus daily and they've been ok, I can manage about 6 hours, then I have to take them out and go back to glasses.

I've got some little eye cups, filled with solution I carry with me incase they dry on me, I have not had issues since. Contacts take sometime getting used to, but if you stick with it, and find a comfortable brand then it is nice to have a change from wearing frames....

My eyes seem to hate all brands, left eye just never feels right with them and the vision is always slightly blurry - this despite having two separate contact lens examinations at different places. Not sure if my eyes simply don't like contacts now.

I see some lenses have a standard diameter of 13.8.

Others have a diameter of 13.6. Does this matter?

I wear newday daily disposable lens's and i sometimes wear them for 19 hours and wouldnt say i have any discomfort to talk about with them, i also used to wear them every single day which I know you shouldn't do but ive just got some new specs with my new prescription so i only wear lens's 3-4 days a week now :)

I'm paying £18.50 a month for mine, you can buy them cheaper online but then you'll have to pay for eye tests and you won't have the aftercare there if you need it.

The problem is they don't allow much oxygen through to your eyes and you get blood vessel growth around your pupils. I started to have this problem with normal monthly lenses and I hadn't noticed a thing wrong, thats why I switched to continuous wear lenses.

So far this week ive worn glasses all week to get my eyes used to air around them again, i have to admit ive had a bit of trouble with them watering for no reason especially outside! They must have been so used to being protected by the lenses!

I got them online and they are £21.00 for 3 pairs, but I was with specsavers paying £18 per month for about a year and had checkups making sure I was ok with them. I'd suggest you do the same, atleast until your confident that your eyes are ok with them :)

the air optix were pretty comfortable..though i did get problems after around 12 hours....bought some more online and they came through as O2 optix..now i know this is the name they use in USA..but i also notice this batch had a pone year earlier exp. date..when i tried them they were uncomfortable...so i wonder if they have changed the spec for these lenses recently?

now im trying the purevsion...not too bad but u dont lose the feeling that u r wearing lenses..but only had them 3 days...

Most comfortable lenses I've used are Air Optix.

+1 (Monthly, non-continous wear)

Started on these and haven't felt the need to move away.

Wear them for 5 weeks without problems, but I did do 6.5 weeks once and then they did start hurting.

I have been using Specsavers Elite one day lenses. The most comfortable ones I have tried, and I have larger-than-normal eyes. These are so thin I honestly cannot feel them at all. I have tried many other daily lenses, and they all irritate me. These are £25 for 30 pairs, aso are not cheap. But I wont change back.

another vote for purevision here

i've been wearing continuous wear for almost 3 years now
i've had one problem with irritation on my eyelid so went almost a month without wearing them, all good again now
i get them from boots vision plan, £18 a month includes pretty much as much solution as i need, aftercare and eyetests, and some discount off glasses as well
