I was talking with my friend last night about games we've spent most of our lives playing and it turned into quite a thought provoking conversation about the nature of video games and how they help forget about the chore of the 9-5 routine.

I can remember playing WoW before WoTLK came out for atleast 2 years and managed to clock up 127 days worth of playtime...

Oddly, I've spent just under a week playing Binding of Isaac!

Ghost Recon Online is likely to beat those however with 56 days played so far and no sign of loosing it's novelty. Yeah it reeks of **** as far as the microtransactions are concerned, but it's still largely skill based and I love the way it encourages team play.

CS:S. Steam says 2333 hours, but I know it's much, much more than that. Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't at least 5k - 7k. At one point around six or seven years back, I was pretty addicted to it.

Nowhere near as much as most hardcore PC gamers with the MMOs and online FPS games. I think for me it's around 200 hours on Fallout 3 across PC and Xbox 360, though I would imagine I've spent a lot more than that on the Football Manager series since it began.

MW2 I believe I got up to 3k hours which is surprising as I wouldn't touch that game with a barge pole. Leagues is on its way up there at this point.

I spent 2 full years playing nothing but Ultima Online every night for at least 4 hours, so probably that.

I generally don't clock up more than 250 hours in most games (mainly shooters: CSS, CS:GO, COD4, L4D2, Tribes:Ascend). 250 seems to be the sweet spot for me, where I've got a nice reward from playing it and it's not become a grind.

Most decent single player games I normally play 30-50 hours before getting bored.

Steam says I've played Empire: Total War for 174 hours, which is the highest on my list, but I know I played Morrowind way more than that before I got Steam. :p

Non PC I would say Fallout 3, but my highest playtime on PC is Fifa 13 at 76 (ashamed) but closely followed by Civ 5 at 65ish

about 100 hours on fm2012 because I got sacked as spurs manager and then took Everton to top 4 finishes but no higher :(

i played over 30k games of company of heroes and with games lasting anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours that is a scary amount of hours i put into that game

I remember on WoW around the time BC was in beta I changed my sleeping pattern... I was playing on the American servers at the time and too sync up with there time I used to come bakc from school at 16:00, sleep until midnight - 1ish, then get up, raid like a boss and then man school. Did this for a good 2 months... Crazy now I think about it.

I have nearly 2000 hours of CoD4 on my X-Fire page. However I never used X-Fire much in the early days, so it's probably closer to 2500 hours of gameplay.

Roughly 7000 hours in Everquest.

Apart from that I'd guess Quake 3, CS 1.6, WoW, Fifa series take the rest of the top 5 spots.

almost 700 hours on battlefield 3. Nowhere near the most I have done though, played UT and Q3 a stupid amount of time back in the early 2000's

OO scary number. I played WOW over 6 years logged on each day at work for 8 hours plus home time thats some serious hours. Can't be bothered to activate the account to do a /played though. Oh and I had two accounts sometimes running both at the same time. Getting around 2years. lol
