Most hours clocked up in a game and why?

Tf2 - >2k hours
Because it was great fun.

I normally don't stick with one game that long but I still dip back into it now and again when there's nothing good out. Luckily now I have about ten new games from the Steam sale.

Final Fantasy XI probably around 10,000 hours. Endgame stuff 3-6 hours a day and then eventually I had to quit because it got tiresome and couldn't maintain the dedication to the endgame guild in-between my real life. Over the space of about 5 years that's around almost a third of a year just being online. Thinking back it was certainly enjoyable and I don't regret it but I do wonder what would be if I did something productive for all that time.

I clocked up 250Days played on my main in EQ so thats 6000hours. I expect with alts and other accounts it would have been close to 10000hours. Just an amazing ground breaking game at the time, sadly with so much choice about in the MMO market no game will ever be able to repeat what EQ did (people won't play as it will be too hard)

Did many server first and the odd world first.

A BF1942 mod called Desert Combat.

Why ? Because they don't make games like that anymore :(

DC El Alamein CTF was epic, take a 2 seater jet, fly over flag, co pilot bails, you do a loop de loop and arrive at the flag at the exact point he has landed to get the flag and spam enter to be picked up.

Only did it a few times, but was amazing if you got back!

Well today i decided to log each of my WOW toons and see the played time on each, then add those together.

The total is a quite sobering 6336 hrs or 264 days playtime.

Given that my previous main had 110days alone that shows how long i was focused on one char upto cataclysm release.

Add into the fact that i only started playing WOW when ICC launched and thats a hell of a lot of time crammed into approx 4 years.

Where I have a good idea of the figures:

Skyrim: Steam says 1314 hours.
Morrowind: a simple calculation I did after playing pretty much nothing else for two and a half years suggested around 2000-2500 hours.
Diablo2 might just beat that, but it's close.

But top of them all is Nethack, especially v 3.0 and 3.1 - mainly because, for the whole time between 1992 and 1998 it was about the only game I had. Work was slow, so I played it for hours there (my marathon best was seven hours continuous). My PC was so slow nothing else would play on it. The replacement PC wasn't a lot better. It wasn't until I bought a machine I could play Doom on that I was finally weaned of it. But I still go back now and again, because it's still about the most complex game out there.

Football Manager 2011: 651 hours
Football Manager 2012: 793 hours
Football Manager 2013: 541 hours

"Just one more Continue..."

My recent game times are nothing in comparison to when i was back in School, according to Steam my most played game is BF:BC2 @129 hours, and according to http://achievementstats.com/index.php?action=profile&playerId=76561197973493343 i only have 551 hours on record :L I'd class Steam as my recent gaming history, as i never really gamed on Steam.

My most played game is probably Runescape, you need membership to look up your playtime but i remember the last time i played (probably 3+ years ago) i had about 140days played - 3360 hours.

Probably around 2,000 hours on EverQuest back in the day. God I loved that game. Still want to go back and play it now but I know that all my old in game friends are long gone and it'll be boring.

Got to be WoW, i'm not sure how many hours and i honestly don't want to know lol.

Years of raiding with my guild from Classic to part way through Cata must come to an unthinkable number of hours. Scary.

Football Manager is always a huge time sink but I'm often tabbed out. Steam said I clocked over 600 hours on the last one.
