Most hours clocked up in a game and why?

4,449 hours on RuneScape.

For many years it was the only video game that I played throughout my school days (2005-2010) up until I got an Xbox 360. My playtime was cut down but I still played on a regular basis. Then I started PC gaming so I always had access to the game whenever I was gaming. I still play it to this day (I am right now) and I don't regret any of it regardless of what people say.

It's the game me and my friends in school grew up playing and still do to this day. There have been many great memories and many more to be had.

2K hours on L4D2 - play multiplayer confogl and pub a lot.

If you add together all the Counter-Strikes I'd say I played around 8-10k hours which isn't too bad seeing as I started play it in 1999.

All the battlefields together got to be about 2k

All the Armas 1-2k

Racing Sims 3-4k

Two accounts on Asherons Call for 11 years, just cannot seem to cancel them after so much game play, still have to log in each month to pay my house maintenance.

probably FFXI had around 2 months of playtime but a lot of that was the game being on overnight too.

Quake 3 Arena because it was the best FPS game of all time! Played nearly every day for 5 years or something crazy like that.

6 years of TFC.

The why would be simple fun. Just fun, no unlocks, dlc's, kill death ratio's to detract from people taking it up the rear for the team.

Type in "/played" without the quotes. Think you have to do it for each character as it will be different for each one.

MW2 with about 25 days played, so about 600 hours. Sounds pretty lame if you ask me compared to what some people have racked up! I was pretty addicted to it at the time. Although tbf that was done in a year!

I spread myself a lot more evenly over a lot of games these days. There's too many different games to play to spend that much time on one! I played BL2 for about 20 hours, but after that I felt that the game became very stale, 20 or so hours must be my limit!

thats bloody insane, almost a year of your life on a game. I would say that in my entire life I only have about 75-100 days played on all games put together.

FFX alone was 140+ hours. and that's not even an mmo.

would be scary/fascinating to know the EXACT number of total days I've spent playing games, wasting my life away

WoW from vanilla launch to halfway through cata. Played it nearly everyday for hours.

Recently starcraft 2 has eaten up probably close to 500 hours.

Drips and drabs other games. Bethesda probably has the most with a few hundred hours on their games.

Think of it in terms of people sitting on facebook and the web. It's not 300 days of just 'playing' the game but standing around a virtual town and chatting, socialising, selling and stuff. If you were to condense all the time most people 'play' the game i.e going and doing a dungeon once or twice a day, it would cut down all that time dramatically.
