Howdy,
Not sure if there is really an answer to this, but I want to know if anyone feels there is a superior brand of HDD that is more reliable then others. When I say reliable, I mean less chance of conking out?
I remember at my old firm, we had plenty of Maxtor HDD's in computers, and they kept dying and I was informed that they where rubbish (harsher language was used at the time, but I won't reiterate that here ), although I was skeptical and just assumed it was the fact they where old.
Anyway I have a server running at home, and the Primary disk (that stores all the websites I build) is a Maxtor... So naturally I'm slightly worried? I have backups being made, but thats besides the point, I'd rather not go through the aggro of losing data if it can be avoided.
So I'm considering getting a new HDD to replace the Maxtor, and just want to know what brand to consider? I don't mind splashing out extra £££ for a more reliable disk!
Its SATAII aswell btw!
Any ideas appreciated!

p.s. If possible, the quieter the better also
