Most violent place in Britiain?

At the minute i'd say Londonderry over here in NI is quite violent. It's on the news every other day saying someone's been raped, beaten up or murdered. Doesn't seem like a particularly nice place to live and now i'm glad I didn't decide to go to uni up there.

I've been mugged in Tottenham a couple of times. Just money. This nice black guy tapped me down and searched my pockets.

My mate was mugged in Carnaby street. I ran off, while he stood there getting mugged. Best thing to do.

Another one of my mates was mugged in a rave in Tottenham. Another home boy searched his pockets for money.

Parts of London are quite bad for young white males imo.

Also another mate of mine got beaten by a drunken irish man on a bus in Manchester. Manchester uni area is bad for gettting mugged.

A man walked into Mcdonalds on the busy high street at around lunch time. Calmly pull out a gun shot two teenagers and calmly walk out....Withnesses say he didnt run or appear to be in a hurry...Just calmly walked out..

Brixton - bad. Glasgow - bad. Nottingham - bad. Manchester - (specifically Longsight, Gorton, etc) worse.

I was working nights in West Gorton about 3 years ago. Only me, a girl who worked in our support team and the security team on the other side of the campus.

A young lad was killed. Stabbed to death. About 20 feet from us. His body was found leant against the chainlink fence round the back of the temporary structure that housed our remote support :/

Yea Manchester areas can be bad, guess I'm lucky that I've not had any trouble. Seems to be that with the focus on getting Mosside better they forgot about the other places.

Well i think Burnley Wood has got to be pretty high up there. Last time i was working in Burnley Wood some chavs called an ambulance then when it arrived they all ran out and tipped it over   .

Worked in Moss side and Longsight a few times and that wasn't a nice experience. There were flowers on a street corner where a shooting had occurred the day previous.

Westbury in Wiltshire. A few years ago we had a higher murder rate per 100,000 than New York. There were 3 murders in as many months, and we only have 8,000 people living here. For a small town, we have some amazing punch-ups in the pubs and Friday and Saturdays nights atThe Ludlow pub are pretty nuts. Same old people fighting the same old people...

I used to live in brixton, to be honest i never found it *that* bad. it's a little scary but in general everyone is pretty chilled and the night life is superb, i still go down some weekends. Most parts are pretty safe. I actually felt less safe in places like peckham and battersea...

Most violent place....well i have friends at uni in nottingham and although i've never ventured into the dodgy areas when i've been visiting even the center of town has seemed scary enough at times...

This reply did surprise me, i'm sure there are far worse places than here in westbury. I never really go into the center or to the pubs, though i agree they can be a bit dodgy. I much prefer some nice out of the way country pubs.

Brixton scares me :( And what's with all the Fried Chicken Cottages?

There are loads of those around there but they are spreading more and more this way towards Lewisham, Greenwich and Eltham.

The one near me is called 'Favourable chicken and ribs,' a blatant copy of the 'famous' Favourite chicken cottage.

God knows who's giving them so much business. Not even a patch on KFC

Whitmore Reans in Wolves is quite bad, gang shootings are getting more and more common :/

Whitmore Reans and Bushbury aren't great :( I spent all summer working at Halfords in Wolves, which lies kind of between the two areas (G|mp will knows this being a local, but for the benefit of those that don't).

Dodgy wouldn't describe it...so many smackheads trying to steal stuff, we'd end up chasing people on a daily basis. I had people threaten to stab me and threaten to punch me (three times). I'd go to open the back doors to get the stock in and fairly often there'd be some druggy trying to shoot up. Prostitutes were always going round the back of the store trying to get into this big shipping container we used to store stuff, because it used to be kept unlocked, until our staff noticed what it was being used for apart from rubbish storage :/

Definitely the roughest areas I've ever spent any length of time in.
