MOTOGP 2015

I've heard it all now......... Jorge didn't win because...wait for it..................."My helmet lining came down over my eyes"

To be fair, his times dropping seemed a little unusual. I do think, had he not had problems and been able to break away from the group, he would have won the race. But I was watching the sectors of each rider (Multi-screen on MotoGP site is pretty epic!). Rossi was winning every sector except for sector 1 which he needed to improve on. Still was doing enough to claw away and get himself right up there.

The race was brilliant to say the least.

Only just caught up with the race. Managed to avoid the result until now and glad I did. What a race. F1 could do with looking at that for how to start a new season. Loved the new graphics too.

Too bad about Pedrosa, hope he gets sorted out, but I'd love to see Moaner back and see how he competes with Marquez once he's back up to speed.

Brilliant!

Love stoner back that would be the best coup ever for motogp, imagine the season then, especially with Rossi riding like he has, lorenso will get faster and we know Marquez will
Please make it happen

Not entirely sure of the rules, but at what point do Ducati become 'too successful' and they're forced out of the open class and are forced into the same restrictions as Honda and Yamaha? Do they have free reign this season, for the whole season?

Not 100% sure but I think changes start when they get 3 podiums, and I think so just one more, and then they initially just lose 2 litres of fuel (from 24 to 22).

Then if they get 3 wins they lose the softer tyre allocation which is only really beneficial to qualifying.

But it seems they keep the unlimited engine development/testing, and extra engines over the year, at least till the end of this year.

Except he tests the Honda. So must still like bikes and motogp bikes. IIRC he was annoyed with all the politics and nonesense around it (good job he's not an F1 driver) If he was only filling in until the end of the season he might be down with that. Let's see.

I imagine it would take him 3 or so to races to be fully up to speed, though we'll probably see Aoyama instead.

Well who ever winds up in the hot seat, & wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dani calling time on his motogp career, he's already had surgery to fix the problem, & spent most of last year looking for a solution, he might well decide that its in both his & Honda's best interests if he steps aside.

Looks like Dani will miss the next two rounds so he can have yet more surgery, Aoyama will be keeping his seat warm.

Just been reading about that on MCN, this is his 3rd round of surgery on the arm, & this time they're using a very invasive technique, sounds like it's the last chance saloon for him.

'Sorry to everyone but I am not racing @circuitamericas next weekend, it would have been an honour to ride for @26_DaniPedrosa #NotMeantToBe'

Doesn't sound like someone who isn't interested to me. He's already signed up to do the Suzuka 8 Hour for Honda as well !!

All he's doing is fending off the inevitable questions on Twitter & addressing the rumours.

Dani Pedrosa underwent surgery on Friday morning in Madrid to solve his arm pump problem.

Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa underwent surgery this morning in Madrid, performed by Dr. Angel Villamor – orthopaedic surgeon and Medical Director of iQtra Medicina Avanzada. The surgery, aimed to fix Dani’s problematic arm pump, took just over 2 hours with Dr. Villamor confident of its success.

The operation, aimed to fix Dani’s problematic arm pump, took just over 2 hours with Dr. Villamor confident of its success. During today’s surgery, Dr. Villamor completely removed the layer of fascia – the casing around the muscle that gives it form and shape – which is causing problems for Dani.

It is expected that Dani will be discharged from the hospital in a few hours, after confirming that his post-operative evolution is positive. He will visit Dr. Villamor regularly in the coming weeks for check ups and then begin a custom physiotherapy program. A recovery time of 4 to 6 weeks is expected, however his return to racing won’t be confirmed until Dr. Villamor can ascertain the success of the surgery.

Dr. Angel Villamor:
“The surgery was complicated and aggressive using a microsurgery technique and microscopic lens. It lasted two hours, and was done under a local anaesthetic. We examined the muscle fascia, which were hypertrophied and had to be opened up and released. The muscle fascia has been dissected and removed from the forearm. This increased volume engorged the muscle within the inelastic fascia resulting in increased pressure within the compartment, and causing a painful condition of oxygen deprivation – thus causing intense pain in the forearm which collapsed after exercising during riding. We will now monitor Dani over the next few weeks to measure the success of this surgery.”
