Same ECU yes, but the programming will not be the latest HRC revision I'd have thought. I know these are simplified ECU know from what they were using last year. But there will still be a lot of gains and loses in the way the ECU is programmed
I didn't realise he was on the latest bike already, last I read he was saying it wouldn't be available for the first few races.
You can't run 3 man teams anymore.SKILL said:Get the impression Dani is a Honda man through and through, and Honda would pay through the nose to keep Marquez.
Dovi/Iannone is a good shout though, both are decent and one of them surely is gonna get dropped (unless Ducati are planning to run 3 bikes?)
Silly season, w00t
That's just saying that the ecu hardware and the sensors are the same for everybody. you can't run the same software mapping on the ducati as you do on the Yamaha or Honda for example. There will still be a big gap in the mapping and the way the power is delivered (and max power i guess) between factory bike and satilite bike will there not?
Also the ecu's are still very complicated bits of kit, they still run different maps for different parts of the track, etc (wasn't this the issue Cal had at the first race, the bike didn't know where it was on the track?).
It'll be interesting to see what Yamaha do this year with regards to upgrades etc. Lorenzo is their best chance of another title so you'd imagine they'd give him all the best bits even with him going.
Incredible? WTF? He's been over shadowed by every team mate with the possible exception of Dovi. I'd say he has underperformed in a team where in the 11 seasons he's been there HRC have won the riders championship 4 times.
Dani is a good number 2 rider but incredible? No.
Maybe Redding on the HRC if Dani leaves, better him than crashlow. With the rides he is getting Redding will be a never man as well.
I think Smith will do well on the KTM but not got the little spark required to win a moto GP I am afraid.
Still take a gamble and give it to Kent
