Motor Cycle Licence Question

Guy on my CBT managed to trap himself under the scooter and bounce his head off the floor during the emergency stop, funnily enough he did not get a certificate. He did get a trip in an ambulance though.

A friend of mine that had never ridden a bike before failed the CBT on his first attempt. They just invited him back for a second day at no further charge for a little more practise and he passed. The second time I did mine, there was a little boy on a scooter out with us that did some really stupid stuff, like failing to stop at giveways a couple of times, rolling over stop lines, dropping the scooter doing u-turn. Still passed, was quite shocked tbh.

Whilst there is no actual 'pass' or 'fail' because there is no test, you are either certified as 'basically safe' enough to ride alone, or you aren't. As mentioned, the latter usually just means more training/practice under supervision before they give you your cert.

You mean do the training on that bike?
No way - Not unless you get it trailered to the riding school, or the instructor comes to pick you up, anyway. Ye cannae legally ride it until you've passed the test! :)

That's why most people use the school bikes.

And yet, you can ride a Trike on either a bike or car licence, despite it being very different to both vehicles!

Yep - that's what I meant. It will barely go over 50 unless on a 20% incline! Therefore impossible to have accidents at 50+ :)
Wish I could keep mine, but I'll have to use it as part ex or sell if first to add funds for the new bike. It's a 61 plate with about 4,000 miles on it so should get a grand with a little luck.
 
Easily, you wouldn't be able to pick one of that age with that few miles up from a garage for less than 1.3-1.4k so you should clear a grand no problem private.

And, more annoyingly for myself, you can't ride a Quad unless you have a car license.

I could jump on a 180BHP+ bike at 19 but couldn't ride a quad because it has 4 wheels? :confused:
