motorbike broken down, now waiting on recovery :-(

The one I got was recommended on the rsvzone forums (seriously, nearly everyone has them!) so by the sounds of it £50ish wasn't too bad!

I had something similar happen but it was the regulator that had fried. Literally fried the plastic resin type stuff was melting and molten metal had come out of the back off it.

Boiled the battery. Too

Bump starting a 600cc in line 4 is a doddle. Litre twins can be bumped but are a more challenging prospect.

out of curiosity, how do you bump start, just put into first, engage clutch, push fast and then let go of clutch ? and then dip clutch straight away ?

Pretty much yea, just make sure youve got the ignition on, ive pushed too many people so far only to realise after a few tries "You have got the ignition on right...?"

I tend to use 2nd gear rather than first, particularly if it's a twin. Less chance of the wheel locking and the bike stopping dead.

never use 1st gear in a car and the same goes for a bike, 1st can lock the wheels up in a car when you try to bump start and the same happens on a bike which is not what you want!

just plop it in 2nd gear put the ignition on II pull the clutch in push it along till you get to about 10mph ish (less downhill) and just release the clutch
