Motoring pet hates

Do you mean merging in turn when a two lane road narrows into one lane? You are meant to use both lanes, not queue in one and leave the other empty!

no, i mean when you have a two lane road where the right lane is turn right only and the left lane is straight ahead only. A nice queue of traffic is waiting in line to go ahead and some tool in a BMW or something comes down the right hand turn only lane, clearly marked, knowing that someone will let them in near the front of the queue.

Merge in turn is child's play.

depends

if your talking about say a single lane road which leads to a T junction, right hand is for right hand turn only, and left is left turn onnly with traffic lights and islands at the bottom of the road, people going down the right hand lane and pushing in at the bottom would do my tree in.

Attempting to move into a lane marked left turn only from a lane marked right turn only does my tree in.

This is completely different to merging in turn.

One of the few people to understand me, ty MrLol!

When they re lay half of the roads here, and for the other half, they put down that tar + chippings nonsense :(

I absolutley hate it when people park but don't straighten the wheel.

I understand if you've parked on a steep hill and turn towards to curb but when you are on a flat surface in a parking bay, I just find it idiotic.

What's your pet peeves?

I do this all the time, it happens when you do a perfect reverse park and you don't have to shuffle backwards and forwards. The wheels are pointing in the correct position to pull straight out again when you're ready to leave.

What happens when you reverse park, do you remain still and spin your steering wheel to get them straight? I always thought this was bad for the steering.

Maybe you need to practice reverse parking ;)

-- People who swing out in the opposite direction as they turn (turning left so they swing the car out to the right first off to somwhow make the turn easier)

People who cut into your lane as they are turning into the road you are coming out of, or just approaching the junction of. I see it a lot at the crossroads near my house.
Basically not turning at 90 deg or close to.

I hate people who take their pets in their cars.

Can't stand to see unsecured dogs in cars. Ignoring the obvious danger, if you love your dog, you'll secure him properly. I don't mean a £20 Petworld harness either.

You could kill your dog through sheer laziness, the dog could injure or kill you and creates all sorts of issues should you need to have someone extract you from a car. Proper, tested harnesses are out there...buy them.

Hardly rocket science is it, make the corner radius larger, easier to turn.
Maybe you are right and that's a load of rubbish though, hang on a minute I'll call the BRDC and tell them racing lines are a thing of the past.

I see your dogs and raise you children.
The worst I've seen is a child playing on the parcel shelf :(

I'm not questioning that it has a benefit; i'm questioning its use on the road.

People swing out onto the lane next to them and can easily clip your car as you go by, this extra foot or two of swing is hardly going to make a difference at 10mph.

Most dogs i see are in the boot or fairly sedate in the front seat.

Not a massive issue tbh, i've never heard of it causing an accident either.

That sort of goes without saying, just staggering.

I'm thinking more of the dog. Like children, you stick them in a car and it's your responsibilty to ensure their safety.

Merge in turn is something the british driving public seem incapable of comprehending.

Last week I was coming down the M6 at night, I hit a massive queue between j19 and j18, and the cause of it was self righteous **** sucking mofo's lorry drivers in the outside lane preventing people from merging in turn, the motorway only had a single lane open, way way down the road, and these ****'s took it upon themselves to police the motorway. I just couldnt understand, why they would do this, it was big lorry companies, one was a big target lorry, and the other another well known haulier, so well known that I cant remember the name :p

Why?

My hate:
Inconsiderate retarded morons who slam their door open in your car.
People not looking properly when pulling out/not giving way.
People who damage your car while parking and run off.
Thieves.
Vandals.

My annoyances:
Slow acceleration/grandpa syndrome at lights.
Trucks overtaking ( especially when they aren't allowed to).
People not keeping to the right.
Kids playing between cars on a car parking ( they may accidentally scratch/dent it.
Driving slower than allowed causing a tailback of half a mile.
Speed limits between 1-5am.
Cops (highwaymen) shafting motorists at the motorway.
Signs of roadworks left behind even if there are NO roadworks going on at that moment or have been going on for a week.

I have 3

1. People who block yellow box junctions in rush hour meaning 1 roads turn of a green light never really happens.

2. People who think that being level with your wing mirror when over taking you is an indication that the manouver is now complete and swing into your lane.

3.people who brake then come to a stop, then indicate.
