How are you finding battery?

Yesterday it lasted 14hrs with quite a lot of usage including about 2 hours as a hotspot. Tmobiles signal is rubbish around here too. Today, with average use, afew txts and a bit of Web and I have 90% battery now after unplugging the phone at 6:20 this morning. Quite an improvement over the 18 month old desire.

How's yours?

Absolutely bloody awful. Actually, so bad it's been packed up ready to send back. As soon as the screen was on, you could practically feel it peeing all the juice out. I think my best shift with it was 10 hours, and 8 of those I was asleep!

I really want to keep it, but it has been making my Desire HD seem like a monster for battery life. :(

That's pretty ****, yesterday mine was at 40% after 16 hours of average usage in poor re eption. Today, I've dropped to 20% after 7hrs but did notice the phonewas warm in my pocket, and an app was stuck on startin download, killed it and phone cooled down.

I've always liked RAZR's I had the V3 and V8 but the OS was very dated even then. Glad they're finally getting with the times

How's battery life in direct comparison to your Defy FartInferno?

Sounds like you got a duff one or a piece of software was just bugging out? There's no way a DHD should have better battery life :p

They're not gimped and are comparable to all other Android OEMs. Certainly close enough for it to come down to personal preference.
The only real bummer is European software support compared to Sony/Samsung/HTC.

This slashgear reviewer loves the screen :D

Guy is a moron, doesn't know the difference between pixel density and resolution, someone should tell him it's not Super AMOLED Plus Advance display, among other things. How do these idiots get jobs reviewing stuff?
Don't like the lag when pinch to zoom on the picture. o_O

BTW going to follow this device to see how Motorola handles their software support for their device now that they have been purchased by Google. This is going to decide if I'll ever purchase another Motorola smartphone in the future as I've been burnt by them before with this.

Motorola haven't yet been purchased by Google. The acquisition hasn't gone through yet. You won't see any of Google's influence for a while yet so there's no point judging them until that has happened.

Definitely wasn't software, tried it with my apps, and got very similar after a factory reset.

Here's two new versions.

One comes with a 13MP camera and 720p LCD screen.

So did anyone get it and is happy with their purchase? I ordered from Handtec last Thursday and still waiting for it to be delivered :(

Quite happy with mine so far, it's quite an improvement over the Desire; I like the interface too, but haven't use any of Moto's apps. Real test will be over the next few days as my upgrade SGS2 (which I'm supposed to sell) has arrived. My wife phoned to tell me it's at home & has decided she's having it  so I'll be able to do a direct comparison in terms of battery life, while hoping the Defy & Desire sell for £££££ :D
