That car is faster now, too. Some tweaks, some slighter lighter batteries. It's an impressive bit of kit and I particularly like the fact that he hasn't changed the appearance of the car. Hahaha, some guy is driving a manky old Datsun...bloody hell, look at it go! 10.258s for a quarter mile now, still the fastest road-legal EV for a quarter mile.

I doubt if an EV would work very well as a trackcar, though. Driving an EV hard on a track really sucks down the charge. You wouldn't get many laps out of it.

Here's some more:

The fastest accelerating electric car, as far as I know, is Black Current III. It's a little bit faster than the car it's racing against in this video. Just a bit.


Current Eliminator V is, as far as I know, the fastest accelerating 4 wheeled EV.


Rocket is, as far as I know, the fastest accelerating EV.


An early prototype of an electric track car, the Quimera AEGT01. Although it could easily be road legal. Fancy a 700bhp EV? Looks like it belongs on a track, too.
