I only checked as I was reading this thread and then wondered where the BMW diesel comments came from as a few BMW vids on this page. Weird.

 
I honestly can't see what happened there...was there something on the track? :o

High speed corner going over a rise making the car go light for a point. It doesnt look like much of a rise or very fast from the vid though

He was probable on the brakes going over the rise which made the rear step out

Nothing on the track that caused it other than the drivers incompetence.
That's what I love about the Nurburgring, every corner has something about it than can bite you in the ass. :D
Basically it's designed to unload the suspension as you steer into the left hander. If you haven't balanced the car correctly then the rear end breaks away..
That's at the end of a nice straight too, so you are going some when it happens.
