Motorsport on TV in 2012

F1 has been filmed in HD for many years, and broadcast in it since the end of 2010. The BBC coverage will be in both SD and HD again, and so will the new Sky Sports F1 channel.

OMG! I wonder if its possible to Sky+ everything on a channel :D

And Indycar, they kept that one quiet? Any more news on what they are planning on showing?

Quick heads up. I am going through my Sky guide for motorsport and spotted that ESPN Classic has highlights of the 1977 Formula 1 British GP on next Saturday at 7pm.

Edit: Oh wow, loads of stuff is showing up now, including a bunch of the programs on next weekend on SSF1HD :D:D:D

Yeah, unfortunately it looks like the epic live coverage of previous years has been cut back. They are doing it for some events I think, but not all. :(

Oh the cheeky buggers!

No, its appears that every race will be shown Live, and every race will be shown in HD, but that doesn't mean it will be shown both Live and in HD at the same time!

Live on the Red Button ins SD
Repeats on BBC One HD or BBC HD later on the day.

Cheeky gits, they had me fooled.

Nice.

Added FIA GT1, which will have highlights shown on Channel 4, and Auto GP, which has a combination of Live and Delayed races on Eurosport and has been a bit if a find this year. It uses the old A1GP cars but has produced some great racing.
