Mountain Biking

I remember discovering ChainReaction in the early 2000's. It was free next day delivery, couldn't believe I could get pretty much any bike part that quick and for good prices

Both sites went off the boil over the recent years. I found myself going to Sigma and Merlin more and more.

Hope something gets sorted, that Sports Direct bloke will probably buy them out for a pound

What aftermarket pads did you try?
I saw a video on something similar and it suggested the brake pad backing plate was machined slightly incorrectly which caused the backing plate to vibrate against the calliper body when braking causing a noise. the fix was to simply file a small amount from the edge of the backing plate.

I'll see if I can find the video.

Found it. Not saying this is your issue but might be worth a look.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Tried everything else

I tried a set of Clarks pads, a set of lifeline pads (CRC own brand I think) and both did the same once bedded in and biting. Then I thought must just be bad/cheap pads. So went back to the official tektro ones and a new disc (just incase it was some sort of contamination) and same nonsense.

Not a massive issue, but it does bug me as it was fine before.

Hi all, any good suggestions for a bottle mount tool kit? I've got extra mounts on the underside of top tube so looking to keep tools there. I was going to do a simple cage and stuff an old bottle with tools, but wondered if anyone uses something more specific, like the Topeak jobbies

That's not what he asked for.

I have yet to find a solution that beats a velcro strap that I stick a pump and multi tool into.
My tubeless repair kit is on my bars, a Granite one.
lol completely mis-read it... my son has one of these on his bike https://uk.oneupcomponents.com/products/edc-pump and I have the headset kit on mine.

But I also carry spare tubes in the cavity on the frame as repairing tubeless while out is a pain.

Really. If much rather stick a plug in a tyre than remove the tyre and put a tube in, so messy with the sealant. Plug takes about 2 minutes.

sounds like ChainReaction/Wiggle are going down the pan soon :(
It's not just ChainReaction and Wiggle who are in trouble,Vitus and Nukeproof also as their parent company Sigma Sports in going down the pan. Whilst it is a shame becuase I remember CRC from the days of ordering from them via their adds in MBUK I haven't really used them much in recent years and the only time I needed to use their customer service it turn out to be ****!

I'm sure someone else will come along and bail them out though.
