Gwins chainless run kinda takes the shine off neko mulally. Incredible stuff from jesus on a bike. Not as entertaining as his tyreless run though :-p

No idea, probably quite heavy. Its quite old

*edit* Managed to find a review that says 30lbs, 13.5 kgs roughly

However, a careful build up with some choice modern components would surely see this as a sub 12kg rig easily?

Depends. You'll have limited options on parts because of the straight 1 1/8 headset, no disk mounts (are disks lighter than v's??).

Can you even get parts for servicing that shock?

I believe the shock can be upgraded by using a betd linkage and then take standard shocks. Also I think I can get it serviced by a bike shop mate. He has done them before I am told

Rear discs can be added, but I prefer Vs on the rear anyway! I think I will go for cable operated front disc for added retro.

My mate had one of those with some sort of different linkage and a A2Z disc adapter on the rear.

Was awful plush from what I remember, not quite as good as my bighit right enough but similar.

I liked the retro kona I used to ride

I had the extreme big hit version with triple clamp Manitou forks with 4" travel. It was awful. A fat slow pogo stick. I upgraded it with RS Psylo's. XTR etc...it still sucked. Good luck.

It was technically my brothers which he swapped for a 2.2 diesel mk1 Laguna haha.

He got it from a guy, swapped the same guy for the laguna and then the guy had it for his son I believe.

It enjoys snapping the rear disc tabs, nothing to do with the size of the rotors of course!

That race was spectacularly exciting... and Minnaar hitting his head out the start ramp was hilarious, though I suspect he's right ****ed off!
