Mountain Biking

DH tyres for proper Dh tracks. The difference in stability and grip is very pronounced. You won't struggle per say, you'd just go a lot faster on the Dh tyres

CRC and bike-discount aren't selling these, and the minon seems out of stock too - do you know where I could get hold of some who deliver fast?

Got my bargain FSR frame today. Weight with shock is just about 3kg all up
The rear shock is 160mm eye to eye, so I think I can use any 160mm rear shock to replace the old rock shox coupe deluxe unit if I cannot get it serviced :)

I think the shock you need will be a lot less in travel.

Doing my first uplift day at BPW on Saturday. Can't wait :D Weather can't seem to make it's mind up though, different every time I look!

Nextdaytyres.co.uk can be good I think. Been a while since I checked 'em though so sorry if it turns out they're not anymore.

by 160mm,I mean the distance from eye-eye for mounting. Turns out that people run 165mm shocks on these frames with no issues, which is handy as there are a load of shocks this size! (6.5inch)
The stroke would need to be in the region of 37mm to stay close to stock. Seen some decent brands with 165mm air shocks with 38mm of stroke. So these seem a logical starting point.

Well don't know if I made the correct decision but I just bought the Pushed Fox 2015 Van RC, not sure the RP23 would have been up to the task of a week in Morzine and the old shock will replace the broken one on the Specialized.

Still its bought now

Trying to decide whether to hit the reds properly at BPW tomorrow. Watching the videos none of them look particularly tough. But I really can't tell whether the video just doesn't do the speed justice or the particular rides I watched are going steady. I've done some of the reds / downhill routes at FoD and am comfortable with the airtime on Launchpad after a few runs, am I likely to be within my comfort zone on BPW's reds?

Either way I'll be starting with some blues as going with a few newbie workmates and the weather is looking like it will be less than stellar.
