After Real Madrid's Champions League exit, and for some time now, Mourinho has effectively said he's leaving Real Madrid and wants to return to the Premier League. Obviously he's no chance of managing Manchester United at the moment, so it seems like a return to Chelsea is on the cards?

Jose Mourinho will make a decision on his Real Madrid future at the end of the season, with a return to the Premier League firmly on the cards.

The former Chelsea manager has been strongly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, with interim manager Rafa Benitez set to depart when his short-term contract expires in the summer.

Mourinho was speaking after Real's UEFA Champions League semi-final elimination at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, where a 2-0 second leg success was not enough to prevent a 4-3 aggregate defeat.

The Portuguese coach said: "I know in England I am loved. I am loved by the fans, I am loved by the media, they treat me in a fair way, criticising me and giving me credit when I deserve it.

"I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one."

Reports would suggest Real Madrid want Ancelotti to replace him, and PSG want Wenger... which would be quite a big surprise but you never know.

I can't see Mourinho being the Arsenal manager... I could see him at City but that would pretty much destroy his long term goal which is to replace Sir Alex.

If Wenger did leave, who would Arsenal target as a replacement? It would surely be Klopp in an ideal world, but I don't know if that's very likely...

I hope he does even as a manu fan , he would get some treasure funds to play with as well and since english teams need a better showing in europe next year (if chelsea make it) the more epl teams improve the better

Id like to see Klopp at Arsenal myself, think hes a brilliant manager with what he has done at Dortmund although it will be interesting to see how well they do without Gotze, now that hes gone to Bayern. Not sure about Lewandowski, if he will go this year or stay at Dortmund...hes got another year on his contract and wouldnt be surprised if he ended up at Bayern this season or next.

As for Mourinho??, i dont know if Abramovich would put aside his pride and get Mourinho back in as manager for Chelsea...other than Hiddink...hes probably the best manager for Chelsea imho.

What i would love to see is Mourinho at City, baiting Fergie with the nonsense he comes out with. I honestly cant see Utd replacing Fergie with Mourinho as hes a bit of an arse at times and i dont think Utd would want a manager who is a loose cannon so to speak.

As for Wenger going to PSG??, cant see it tbh. I either see Wenger signing another contract with Arsenal or moving upwards in Arsenal. But who knows for sure...but for me id love to see Klopp at Arsenal.

There was a rumour flying around a few weeks ago that Arsenal were looking at Joachim Loew, the German team manager but i cant see it unless the German FA let him go early.

Not to the same extent, no.

If Jose goes to Chelsea the only way of him then managing United is if they sack him again, they'd be absolutely no chance whatsoever of us getting him while he's at Chelsea

I agree, I suspect all this talk about him wanting to manage Utd might simply be reading a little too much into the respect he shows the club and manager. It can't be that much of a burning ambition if he's willing to go back to Chelsea, I don't see him ever managing us if he were to do that.

Did he ever say that 0.o?

No, but I've always thought it was implied. Perhaps not.

Replacing Sir Alex is going to be possibly the most difficult task there has ever been in modern football management, so I imagine all of the top managers would be interested.

I would have thought that they would rather be the guy that follows fergies replacement? IMo whomever follows him is doomed to failure.

RE - Maureen, I can't see him going back to Chelsea, as I can't imagine RA is the type of person to swallow his pride and admit he got it wrong? Mind you what other top manager is mad enough to go there? Also can't see him at a club like Arsenal, not enough funds and he is more a "short term manager", Man City seem like the logical choice as they have to be in the market to replace Manchini, how times is he going to fail before they replace him.

Would love to see him back where he belongs. I hear that the relationship with Roman has been fine for a while so fingers crossed.

I've never seen what all the fuss is about Mourinho. He inherits already established teams, has a large surplus of cash to spend and does, got the gift of the gab and everyone think he's a god. Sir Alex on the other hand built a side which was once in pieces, turned it around and maintained that level for the last 20 years or so. No manager i can think of world wide as ever come even half a close to what AF has achieved. What really can Mourinho do that the likes of Ancelotti couldn't have done in the past? Sorry but Chelsea's success last season wasn't based solely on success, it was sheer determination. I would have thought that abramovich would have learnt this by now.

Mourinho to Newcastle? Now there's a real challenge for him.

Indeed id love to see Mourinho at a club that hasnt got billions of £'s waiting for him to spend on players. But as a few people have said, Mourinho isnt a manager who sticks around long term. He will win a few trophies for whichever club he is at but then ditch them and move onto his next big club to win more trophies. But thats what makes him so successful in the short term rather than long term imho.

I can only see him at either Chelsea or City if he was to return to the EPL, as financially they are the strongest in terms of how much spending money they have.

Porto? they hardly had loads of cash did they

Biggest and most successful club in Portugal, they're not in the same league as Chelsea (few are) but they're not exactly impoverished. I'm not sure about their financial status before Mourinho but I don't think they were broke or anything like that.
