The amount of money he's made from basically failing is unreal.

Perhaps I am an idiot, but its something that I have never understood. He gets sacked for not being good enough at his job, but gets a £22m payout. No job that I have ever worked at would ever have paid me a penny for sacking me for not being good enough at my job.

My first thought is they will raid Spurs for Poch.

United's haul of 26 points after their first 17 Premier League games, is their worst tally in the top flight at this stage since 1990-91.

They are 11 points off the top four and closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table.

My heart bleeds for them.. Welcome to the real world and a nice bump down to earth then.

You're in the wrong job. Once you get to the top echelons of management in massive institutions you can't lose unless your reputation makes you un-hireable in the future (and even then you can cry into your millions in the bank). The wages, compensation packages and severance pay of top executives is crazy. This is still a huge issue in the banking sector. The best thing is that you can run companies into the ground and still come out with massive payouts and profit from its collapse.

Its a ridiculous concept, the idea of effectively paying someone a huge amount because they have failed at their job.

I listed three clubs I think would consider him. Palace, West Ham and Everton. There are plenty of other mid table sides who would consider him as well.
I don't think they would. He plays unattractive football and has strong recent history of falling out with players, other coaches and staff at clubs.

It is but we have almost completely decoupled the concept of personal financial expose and business failure. There is also a fair argument to say that if you manage a failing company and they lose £200m one year and £100m the next year then you can say you have done a good job and deserve a bonus. Its never that black and white really.

Personally I think we should have a system that requires any bonuses to management to be matched in bonuses to the salaried workforce but thats another discussion.

On a more related point, I'm excited for our next game now!

Lol, someone in charge of the sky guide at Sky is a seriously happy Utd fan.

The whole days programmes until 7pm have been titled Jose Mourinho sacked :p

Contracts. He signs a contract paying x amount. If he gets sacked, he gets an agreed payoff. The big football clubs can afford to lose lots of money from the sacking of managers before their contract is up. Most jobs don't have the employee sign a contract saying x amount will be paid over that contract, maybe only in larger companies and higher up positions.

Next manager to sell Fellaini?

In b4 "but Fellaini is one of your best players". **** off, that says a lot about the predicament we're in if that statement is true

More of a rugby man myself, but the other half's from Manchester and a family of United supporters, so they're kinda my team now. I get all their games on DAZN so have seen most matches.

With the exception of maybe Mata, Rashford, Shaw and Lingard, the squad just looks like they can't be arsed. You can put up with one lazy player like Pogba, but not a whole squad.
