mouse stops working

in the last week or so when playing bf2, my mouse stops working, its still lit up and i have to unplug it and plug it back in and then it works again. its working fine right now in windows. has anyone else had this happen before? whats the problem most likely to be, mouse fault? windows fault? or usb fault? pc is a dfi ultra d, win2k and logitec mx300

Do you have another usb mouse to test with?

Try uninstaling it from device manager then reboot and let it reinstall drivers.

Also get full drivers/software from logitech site and try them.

Also try different usb post and test it on another pc/laptop if possible

How old is your mouse - the MX300 is quite an old design?
(Maybe its popped its clogs...

)

Good news is that Logitech's customer support is legendary.
If it is broken, then let them know ...

Have you also got a wireless keyboard? I had the same thing happening with my mouse and then all my USB ports started to have the same problem (mouse, keyboard, wi-fi dongle). The problem stopped when I put new batteries in both the keyboard and the mouse.

it stopped doing it untill a week ago and now its doing it even more. i tried a spare mx300 which is identical and it still does it

ive got no viruses no spyware, no new apps installed, tried different usb ports and now i have no idea :\
i have a wired logitech usb keyboard and the mouse is wired too.

Contact Logitech they have amazing customer support. Your never know what they could give you.

Have you done this?

Sounds like a problem with your PC rather than the mouse, seeing as it happens with another mouse as well.

if it is really old, i have a feeling they will offer a voucher for 50% or something off a new peripheral than simply offer a new replacement free

If the mouse keeps unconnecting during games, it's usualy driver related.
I had this problem with my Logitech G7 before I installed the drivers, works like a dream now xD

yup i tried another usb port. it is an old mouse but 2 of them are unlikely to be faulty. it doesnt just do it in games, it does it while browsing the web e.t.c
