I currently have some program files running from SSDs.
My new build will be using NVME drives but I need to be able to run the same programs.
Can these be migrated over ok?

New OS install too.

Also, I'll be installing a couple of large capacity storage drives just to back everything up to, Seagate Barracuda seem to fit the bill.
Any better drives for the money? Speed isn't an issue, just want large reliable storage/backup.

You can use clone software to copy the apps to the new drive, but, if I am reading you correctly, if you renew the operating system then you wipe out any changes made by the installation of those apps. So even if you clone the apps they will not be installed anymore. You need to clone the OS and the apps.
Some apps of course are very well behaved if you destroy the installation. Steam for example just sorts the mess out. Any Steam apps just reinstall themselves. Most apps are not so well behaved.

So the issue I have.
I have Solid Works that my brother gave me a licence to. No idea if I can get the key again and, I don't want to lose that but I will be installing a fresh OS onto an NVME.
