Moving abroad

To be honest, I miss the english way of life. I miss the english sense of humour and the down to earth people.
Where I am right now is very superficial and snobby and this brings me down daily. I may try moving around somewhere in the country before going back to the UK (for my OH's sake), but here I feel ostracized because I am a foreigner and have found it difficult to place roots.

thats a shame, Florida is a lovely place to live , i think i found it easy as i went straight into college when i arrived over. My parents are moving down to Florida as well tomorrow :)

I got my green card last year on the Diversity Visa Lottery also known as DV1 i believe :) we'd been applying every year since it started and we decided that last 2004 would be the last time we bothered and we won that year :D

Crystaline, why'd you choose to move to Fargo? I'm just curious.

The boy lives here. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful area, and very cheap to live in. It is growing and there are many positive things that the Minnesota/North Dakota area has to offer, but it is not really for me.

I am happy for you the transition has been so easy :) I will probably try another area before I make any dramatic decisions, as I want to give the US a fair go. Probably a bigger city too! For my business it would definitely help me to be west coast san fransisco/LA area where I have spent some time, so that may be an option.

I've been to both i never really liked SF namely becuase of all the tramps and cold weather but thats my thought. LA is a very nice place to live i looked into a few college's there but decided i prefer florida :p

Thank you ever so much for the replies, they've been a lot of help. (That does sound sarcastic but I've said it now! - and I am genuine.)

She did mention she'd have to do some research. As was said post-holiday blues.

Many thanks! :)
