Moving from a stable consulting career to a hedge fund

Seems a bit pointless, if you're any good then why go back to consultancy?

er, for the money? the travel? the career? it's not all bad in consultancy you know.

Well money and career mostly - if someone moved to a hedge fund and was making a success of it I'm not sure why they'd want to plan to then move back into being a paid consultant for say hedge funds, especially as such work is likely not going to be related to the interesting side of that business anyway as that is generally kept in house for good reason.
