Well the time has come to start looking for a New mobile for me!

My trusty Lumia 830 is still okay for the moment, but Windows 10 is starting to get a little flaky!!! And now Microsoft have said the Lumia line and 'Consumer' handsets are being phased out, They're going down the 'Expensive' Business route (HP and the 'possible' Surface Phones)

As I've been out of the 'Android' loop for 3 years now, my last droid was the Nexus 4... So I was wondering if you guys could help with suggestions on a decent handset!? :)

I need something 'Sim Free' that isn't going to cost the earth!!
I have a few stipulations though!!

I don't want anything Apple,
I don't want anything Samsung,
I would like at least a 1080p screen,
I would like at least a 5" screen, but not over 5.5" (that's just silly),
I would like an microSD slot,
I would love QI charging and Fast Charging when wired,
Nothing too plasticy (love the Metal bits on my 830)...

Budget, I'm not sure! I know the Pixel (Nexus?) is now stupidly priced! but like the look of the One+3 and the price seems nice! so about £350-400 I suppose!

Thanks Guys! :)

Have a look at Honor 8, though it's exclusive to Three but it's dual sim so doubt it's locked. No wireless charging though.
Otherwise you can't go wrong with One plus 3

I've heard about the Oneplus X but don't know when its out!

I suppose QI charging is still rare at this price point (though my 830 does it!)

I'll have a look at those, anymore suggestions?? :)

I just picked up a Lumia 930 this week for £65, as I wanted a phone with a good camera. The 20MP pureview camera is a 2 year old product but is better than a lot of the cameras in the latest phones, with an optical image stabiliser, Zeiss lens and RAW/DNG support.
Windows 10 isn't too bad and does pretty much everything I need and the Edge Browser has come on a long way.

Gonna move away from Windows now! It was great whilst it lasted, but more and more app programmers are moving away (never thought I'd use that reason) and I miss being able to fettle and personalise exactly how i want!

Oneplus X? That's an old discontinued model.

I've tried many phones - nothings comes close to OP3 for the money. It holds it's own against the Galaxy S7's and Pixel in all but ultimate camera performance. Probably the quickest performing Android phone though the pixel does feel just as fast. Great clean rom with nice extra features, super fast fingerprint sensor and nice clean design for the body and very well made.

That's the way I'm leaning!

The zte has perked my interest, but the oneplus3 is top of the pile! Unless there's summit similar with more goodies and awesome reviews!

I got a Moto G4 to replace my 640. I would have prefered a 5" phone but nothing else had the same bang for buck. Its getting Android 7 too.

I still like WP10. But its just not had the love from MS. The borwser is so much better on the G4. Prefer the email on the WP.

I've been after one for ages, where did you pick one up for 65 quid? That is the steal of the year!! Very very underrated phones! Well played sir

Don't get me wrong.. I really like Windows 10, it's just a little buggy on my 830.

I might stay on Windows if any of the other manufacturers offerings are any good (and not priced like the HP at £600-700)

but I also fancy a change for a few years!!

I'm quite torn!!!

They have put there prices up now to £72 though. I went for an Orange locked to EE in 'average' condition. I was very surprised that the phone was in much better than average condition stated, no marks on the screen or back but slight rubbing at the corners on the metal frame. It just came in a cardboard box with no accessories though.

Couple more questions... :)

1, Do people still Root/Unlock the Bootloader anymore?
2, Is it worth Rooting/Unlocking the Bootloader?
3, Can you easily Root/Unlock the Bootloader on the above suggested phones??

Cheers Dudes! :D

Thank you very much sir! At £72 it's still a pretty decent deal. I'm thinking of getting rid of my iPhone for a while and was looking for a 1520 but couldn't justify spending more than 100 pounds on a phone which I won't keep for long. Having said that though I really do dig this phone. You've honestly got the deal of the year no marks on the screen what more can a man ask for?!?!
