Well, i've been driving Nissan Skylines for nearly 5 years now, and i now fancy a change, and i've always wanted a V8. I've had a R33 GTST, an R32 GTR @ 515bhp and currently own an R33 GTR @400bhp

Although at the moment I am trying to get the thought out of my head that, nothing is going to compare to them.

I am wondering what your guys opinions on some V8 cars would be??

I don't particulary want a German car as im not a big fan of them.

The cars i've been looking at are -

Vauxhall VXR8
Corevette C5 Z06 - not sure if i could live with left hand drive though, anyone else here drive a left hander? Is it easy to drive hard and shift gears? Also is there much difference between the Z06 and normal C5?

My budget is around 18k and im not in any rush to sell my GTR for stupid money or get another car just want some other peoples opinions! I also have a Toyota Starlet GT EP82 as a runaround so fuel consumption and off road time is not a big issue but might consider selling the Starlet and just using the V8 as it could be cheaper in the long run.

Cheers

Alex

I had a Vauxhall VXR8 (6.2l LS3 version) and it was immense. Great fun and an aural pleasure (I fitted relatively subtle X-pipe exhausts which helped). I'd have another.

I agree with Disco Boy. If time off the road isn't so much of an issue then get a TVR. The experience will be different to your GTRs, but equally individual. Do some research and you can find something from a specialist that has rebuilt and will warranty the engine and spend below your budget, keeping the rest for fixing electrical gremlins.

I've driven a new M3 V8 and old M5 V8 and wasnt a fan.

Sell one to me?? What should i be looking at?

You've driven two of the finest V8's on the planet (IMO) yet you were not a fan, are you sure you want a V8???
The best V8 is a Scania 16 litre, at least it's not German......:p
