You can have two active eSIM’s.Personally, I’d keep the physical SIM and leave the eSIM free for if I needed cheaper data/calls when roaming.

I stand corrected. It’s been 5 years since I was involved in testing that. You can have two active eSIM’s.
One huge benefit is being able to use a different data provider. I have an EE eSIM with limited data, and an all you can eat 3 SIM card just for data. I can swap between them if I need to pretty effortlessly.
Yes, you label the numbers and you can call/text from both. That’s a great idea, shame 3 network is rubbish. What’s the script for if everything is link to you EE/number? Would you still receive sms/phone calls if it’s using the 3 network?

This means I can put the local SIM in the phone and disable the eSIM which will make things easier. It was always a concern back in the dark ages that one would lose the tiny little UK SIM somewhere but now it won't be a problem. It is done.
Do you have smart benefits with your plan?I'm going on holiday in a few weeks, with the thieving UK mobile providers now charging roaming fees in Europe (thanks Brexit), I'll probably rock up at my destination and pay a tenner for a local SIM rather than pay EE their daily roaming charge. It's like going back to the dark ages.

I thought you could have 2 eSIM's 'installed' but only 1 active at any time?
Ah, so it was a limitation of my iPhone - I had a 12 Pro at the time. To have dual active eSIM's you need a 13 or newer.
Sod that. @Feek just get more e-sims!Be prepared to fill in more paperwork than required to buy a house and have your passport photocopied if you ask for a PAYG SIM in Italy
Guernsey isn't listed.Sod that. @Feek just get more e-sims!
3 is okay where I am. I have a business line with EE with shared data. This setup allows unlimited data. I’ve been running it for a couple weeks, it’s just data that uses 3, everything else is my EE number. That’s a great idea, shame 3 network is rubbish. What’s the script for if everything is link to you EE/number? Would you still receive sms/phone calls if it’s using the 3 network?

My wife is on a legacy plan so it won't cost her anything (well, it won't cost me anything because she's on my contract) but because my plan changed, I'll get stitched for roaming.EE roaming is free isn’t it?
Guernsey. We'll effectively be there for eight days so it's sixteen quid.Where are you going to? Most places I've noticed using EE it's only £2 a day for roaming
This could be the way to do it, add that a few days before we go and then remove it when we get back.Or, you could add the £10 Roam Abroad add-on for a month
