I bought a oem windows 8.1 pro disc and now I'm building new pc. I want to use this licences on other PC I'm using now Can I do this?

I read somewhere I would need to uninstall the wins 8.1 I have on my PC now otherwise it wont accept the wins 8.1 licences right???

Or would I need a new licence?

If you got a disc then yes ur be ok just install 8.1 but then ur have to go through the phone activation system to get it working as it been used before just remember when it ask how many pc is it installed on to say 1 :)

I'v done it a few times and it fine u don't need to uninstall but u can't use that 8.1 licence on the other pc it came from as in have both running it at the same time

You can move it done it but u can't download the iso from the net which makes it hard I have done it lots of times with my windows 8 pro OEM license z77 to my 8.1 main pc here z87

And my laptops Windows 8 OEM license to a new clean install 8.1 both times I just had to go to the phone activation system to activate it.

You may well be able to move it or re-activate, but technically it's in breach of the EULA you've signed up to.

You're more likely to have success transferring with a generic OEM license. Manufacturer ones will be locked to a certificate in the firmware, so you can't use say a Lenovo key on an Asus.

Yes on some laptops and pc's the key is embedded in the UEFI bio's but u can normally do clean installs ok still on them but what this chap says I take it he got his OEM from OCK just like most of us here and we all change our hardware all the time.
I don't think we would still be doing that if we had to buy hundred pound license each time we change the motherboard and in the end if they ever ask you just say it was because of a hardware failure.

Windows 8/8.1 has a "Personal Use" OEM licence which *can* legitimately be transferred between computers - read the answer to "What happens if I build a computer with a Personal Use Licence, then later decide to sell it?" under the "Personal Use Licence" heading in your link.

In the first post the OP says he "bought an OEM windows 8.1 pro disc" [sic], and if he bought it from a retail outlet it's likely it will be the Personal Use edition.

Not strictly true...... Windows 8.1 OEM doesn't come with 'Personal Use' if i am reading this correctly.
This may help to clarify ............

I'm curious as to what you believe BIOS stands for.

Basic in/out interface which is the basic used on pc's but in the last few generations of pc's they added Unified Extensible Firmware Interface for more advanced things to be done from the bio's
