Mozilla Password Store

I too would love to know this.

But, at a guess I'd say it would all be in your profile folder somewhere.

Found this on MozillaZine regarding a similar question to yours.

That isn't possible, only the cache and the bookmarks.html file can be moved to a different location in Firefox.
{I relocate both of those files myself on almost every Profile I run; I have investigated moving other files but haven't been able to find others that can be moved.}

There are extensions to allow you to "sync" Profiles on different PC's, but none that I am aware of that don't use online storage of the files to be synchronized. IOW, none suitable for your situation.

The only solution that I can think of is to use the entire Profile on the USB stick on your home PC with a Command Line Argument directing Firefox to launch using that Profile. - http://www.mozilla.org/docs/command-line-args.html
But it would be easier to just use the entire Portable Firefox on both computers, than to have your home PC be launched with the Portable Profile.

It's actually a completely different question - that thread's about changing where Firefox stores the password data, rather than just copying it around.

The files you're looking for are signons2.txt and key3.db - note that you need both, or the passwords are useless.
They're stored in your profile which, by default, lives at %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random text].[profile name]\

Are you trying to increase your posts?

If so, at least do something constructive like posting a picture of Lindsey Lohan, naked, doing a backwards crab walk. Or a few funny jokes at least, posting two dots is not big and it's not clever!

yeah sorry about that i didnt no how to delet the post i tried to delete what i said but an error message appeared saying i had to have 2 or more characters

i did redit it though and put somthing that may be of use

Sorry, didn't mean to give you a hard time. But do you have any jokes you'd like to share with the group?

I must say - I did like the joke about the Ether Bunny

No - I just really like jokes

Dr. Gillian McKeith turns up at a house and knocks on the door. A big, fat, hairy lesbian turns up at the door and grunts, 'What?'.
Dr McKeith quickly chirps back with, 'Did you know you are what you eat?'

The lesbian lunges forward, grabs her and yells, "Are you calling me a ****!?"

I know I should really blank all of that out but it would ruin the joke - if moderators really have no sense of humour I shall modify...

Try copying the Mozilla folder from the %APPDATA%\ folder and replace the file on the other pc, you should then have all your bookmarks, passwords, extensions etc.

Same as if you have done a fresh install of the os, just install firefox and replace that file, and your browser is back to how it was originally. Thats what i do, and works for me.

:)

On a slightly more technical note.... I tried copying those files but to no avail - did I miss out an all important step??

As long as you copy the two files I mentioned, it should just work. I just tried it (on the latest trunk nightly, and the latest 2.0 release), and it worked fine.

Yes and no - bear in mind it'll blow away any profile data that's already there, and it's generally a good idea to blow the profile away every now and again, import bookmarks, and start again. You'd be surprised how much cruft can build up in your profile.
