MP breaks rules shock horror!

I don't know why any one every thinks or thought such stuff was shocking. They are just humans pushing what they can get. No different to anyone else. What's shocking is the lack of consequence.

If it was a mistake fair enough, but they are not just humans they are our public representatives and they should at the very least behave with the same ethos their political masters propose the rest of us should.

Hence why the Jeremy Hunt affair stinks so bad; they say one thing but do the other.

I am still trying to work out why Warsi ended up as co-chairman of the torys in the first place, she has pretty much done nothing in her political carreer to deserve the positon,

come to thing of it, how did she get a life peer? after failing to grab an election seat when she was Conservative parliamentary candidate for dewsbury?

she is hated by the muslim commiunity, so its not exactly her community intergration skills that got her these positons,

also holds a seat on the cabinet as 'Minister without portfolio' WTF does that mean?

i will say this has to be the most over promoted politician of all time.

She got the position because she is Asian and Northern: the antipathy of what most Tories are, i.e. "Look at us we are so inclusive....."

Exactly. The general Muslim community praise her work. The East London mosque had good things to say about her. The only Muslims who despise her are the small minority extremist group who advocate Sharia law in the UK.

very easy to tag any dissident muslims as 'extremist' it might just be the case that there are a lot of non-extremist muslims that dont like her. she also has statements against immigration into this country, slightly ironic that she herself is the daughter of an immigrant into this country. interesting 'in before the lock' attitude if you ask me

edit: just phoned my mate Numann (From Pakistan), he said that he doesnt like her, and that most young muslims find her to be 'fake'

I don't have a problem with cabinet people being those (and voted in!). It should be on merit however and ability. She has neither of those.

She technically broke the rules but should anyone actually care? Did she actually break the spirit of the rules (which I guess it to protect from bias), is there more to this?

News reported i as spending taxpayer money to pay a friend who she was staying qith the same amount of money she'd have paid an expensive hotel per night.
This might be a separate incident, but if it is the same, then yes, there was personal gain for a friend, from taxpayer money.
I don't charge my friends if they stay with me for a night.
Clearly Warsi does, ifmshe pays in the same circumstance, no wonder she has few friends.

Tend to dislike most things that woman says anyway, happy to see her copping some flak, but then I can be quite mean when tired.

At the time, peers living outside London were allowed to claim up to £165.50 a night subsistence for staying in the capital.

Lady Warsi says she was paying a friend who was renting the property, Naweed Khan.

But the owner of the property in Acton, west London, Dr Wafik Moustafa, says he never received any money from her.

Still could be a sub let, probably against contract, Will have to wait and see.

Only thing that is shocking is that people STILL find this shocking. As if 90% of all politicians aren't totally in this for themselves and feathering their own nests. That's why I completely stopped following politics. Really doesn't matter who mans nr10. All the same.
