the Pinto was so easy to work on and not that large either, but they are very old now, i noticed the Zetec later on after posting in.

£1000 for webbers. you have to look at the alternatives. 200 bhp from pinto for £4000 isnt that bad when you look at the alternatives from other places. with engines 15-20 grand £4000 is a bargin.thing is he has a zetec already. so you can see where hes coming from. edel who posted earlier in here has just done a lot of this. to his escort. they arent cheap cars to do up. simple but costly.

i was thinking of the k20/k24, a very strong engine but a good one will cost £1000 or more.......... f but with regards to this Escort you're better off with a ford in a ford.

Nothing new to report, car isnt back from blasters yet but should be Monday.

Ive bought a new Spit so will get photos of it all hopefully next week.

GAZ Coilovers turned up today, but didnt have chance to unbox them.

Sourced an English Axle with Trans X LSD, fully floating, wilwood disc conversion etc..

Slow progress :(

If it were me i'd love to go Honda, either an F20c or a K20.

There's kits to fit a K20 engine to MX5's even though it's designed as a transverse engine, they're usefully cheaper than the F20c but i imagine more work as it'll need more fabricating as you'd need to marry it up to another gearbox etc.

Prefer the Fiesta, they're from my generation. My Mum had a MK1 XR2, MK2 XR2 & MK3 XR2i. She wishes she'd kept them would have been worth a lot now providing they were kept rust free, which was a difficult thing with them, I did suggest she should get one as there was one for sale at a Sunday Scramble at Bicester Heritage.

Finally got the car back from the blasters.. Overall im happy, but there was a few surprises, mainly being the rear quarter panel which looks like Ari Vatanen himself took care of lol

Its pretty much what I expected, so now I need to order panels and figure out how to get the left over sand out of the car!!!
