I have fitted a msata drive into a lenovo x220 , tried cloning the drive using macrium reflect and windows will boot on the ssd but comes up with this version of windows is not genuine. And nothing works..
tried using lenovo's back up and restore system but that gives windows is unable to start errors.
Any suggestions ?
thanks in anticipation.

The not genuine error will be because windows detects it as being on a different set of hardware, so you'll need to reactivate by phone. As for everything not working, could you be more specific?

Strange. How does the device show up if you view it from windows installed on a different drive? BIOS set to AHCI?

bios is set to ahci, looking at the ssd with the windows disk manager it shows all the files copied but showing ony the original windows boot partition as boot.
ssd is showing as d: active primary
c: is showing as boot, page file, crash dump, primary
