MSI 290X LE quick review and thoughts

No, I am too lazy to OC and generally run at stock whatever system I have except for the CPU. The only time I OC is when benching.

No biggie and the more I think on it, it is the fact of coming from 144Hz G-Sync to 85Hz non G-Sync. I watched Matt's vid, which replicates my gameplay and I see a stutter but he and a few others don't, so maybe it is just me being used to G-Sync.

Appreciated all the help and info though guys and no real problems to speak of now. Shame on the 120/144Hz bit but I can live with that

Me in a nutshell...Exception being i run a stock system, everything!
Too lazy to even bother overclocking for benchmarks as well.

I run Cpu's clocked, cards always at stock unless running the odd benchmark.

Ahh, if i've just slapped the card in the curious me will find out what it clocks like. I've clocked all my 970s, however ran all of them stock for gaming/day to day.

I tend to just run either FS or Heaven, never do the whole bench list and never really take anything to the edge anymore.

LOL @ Guys telling me to overclock.... When I game, I want to game without crap and so I stay at stock clocks. When I bench, I am more than prepared for driver crashes and BSODs

same here, if a game plays and looks good on stock speed why bother overclocking

well Greg; hopefully driver on the 19th will solve some issues as AMD's reported should allow 290s to run 144 or at least get you to 120

True and what Whyscotty says is true also. A shame I couldn't get 120Hz working and that has marred a rather good experience. From my own personal perspective, nVidia have a better driver experience over AMD but if AMD had 144Hz working, DVR in CCC (and working in all games), I would be hard pushed to knock AMD. On the basis of what I paid for a very good 290X though, I am very pleased with my experience.
