MSI GTX970 BIOS update released....

Bought my MSI GTX 970 4GB Gaming Edition last week from OCUK, it already came with this new BIOS already installed.

Is their an actual way to save the BIOS with these GTX 970 cards? My screen freezed and goes totally grey when I try to save the BIOS with GPU-Z.

I install the software but it will not open/work?

Installs fine when i try to open it nothing happens!

Flashed my MSI 970 no probs. When you run the downloaded executable a dos windows appears with a few details and asking you to press Y to continue. Also says uninstall nvidia driver first or it fails.

Maybe that's why mine crashes. Oh well I can't be faffed uninstalling drivers just for this, especially when mine's likely on the latest BIOS anyway. Is there any way to check this aside from this utility?

I held the fan hub on my cards whilst taking the sticker off to be as mechanically sympathetic as possible

I wanna see answer from Gibbo, should we send this cards back for RMA, or this is not hardware issue, and can be decided with next BIOS?

I dont have any problems with my cards really, im not even sure what bios they are running as OP's screenshot is nothing like what GPU-z reports my bios to be.

Don't think there's any way of telling which version you have other than the MSI utility (GPU-Z reports the same for both).

Thread revival!!

OK so I need to upgrade my BIOS to fix the fan pulsing issue but I still can't get Live Update 6 to run.

Tried uninstalling all trace of NVidia drivers but LU6 just crashes on startup every single time.

This is hopeless MSI! Anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: Can't even register on their support forum - put in all the required details and just says "Registration Failed" with no more information. God MSI are a total shower.

You could just flash it yourself and bypass msi's bloatware software

^^this thread explains how to do it.

You will need a copy of the bios you wish to flash too,pretty sure MSI post all official BIO's releases on their site.Make sure you grab the one that corresponds to your model tho(they differ based on memory vendor, Samsung/hynix/ect)
