MSI MPG x870e Carbon WiFi Owners

Wow!! Forgot what a faff setting up raid on an AMD board is!
3 drivers to load in a specific order! Its coming back to me though!
Getting there now!
Ah yes, I gave up on system hardware raid a while back as I found it a little bit inflexible. Don't really need it for windows + games on my 4T Samsung, 600G for EFI/Windows/Linux partitions the rest as a data volume to preserve games/drivers/installers etc between windows reinstall

I software raid (1) the other two 980s in Linux for container/VM images though as it would be time consuming to rebuild them all, I _should_ punt the images to the Synology box to be honest as I'm doing next to nothing work related on this *cough* workstation *cough* anymore ;)

You can test with Ryzen Master aye, haven't installed it myself yet... Just did a quick -40 curve +200 Mhz boost override in the BIOS earlier to check temps but an OCCT combined ram+memory test wasn't happy so I've just reverted the CPU to stock settings until I've got more time to figure out what this CPU is stable with.

I have a tiny bit left of the plastic peel as well, I just left it as my glass panel is tinted and I can only see anything that lights up through it

Aaaahhhh I want to register the board with MSI so I can request the missing thermistor cable, product registration requires a "CHK" number, which is apparently on the board serial sticker, which is on the back of the board

If anyone reads this and hasn't installed their board yet, can they see what the CHK value is (3 characters) on the serial sticker? I'm assuming this is release version specific, like a Dell support code, so it should be the same across all these release boards.

What’s the purpose of the thermistor? Is it just a tc to show the temp at whatever area you leave the sensor end? Where is the temp displayed?
Yeah, it's exactly this. I've used one in the last couple of builds and had it somewhat half way between the top of the case and the GPU card, then used that in case fan profiles. Temp is not shown until a cable is connected, and is not not always listed in desktop utilities, but almost always available as a sensor for fan profiles.
