There's 2 short beeps, followed by 3 short beeps, followed by the final beep of a different tone.

I searched the forums and found a thread saying that the motherboard adds beeps for every USB device connected. So I removed the 3 USB devices, and then I get the 2 short beeps, followed by the different sounding short beep at the end.
What does that mean? There's nothing about it in the manual.

I have the MSI P67A-GD65.

If I disconnect all USB devices it does 2 quieter beeps and then a louder beep on startup.

It's just what it does.

It seems to be a quirk of the the MSI posting process - certainly for the p67a-c45 - as i have exactly the same MB plus have read several other forum posts regarding this topic.

It's my first MSI build using a 2500K (usually use Gigabyte or Asus) but these boards were getting such favourable feedback on the forums that i decided to have a play.

I personally don't like the Mickey Mouse UEFI - but have found the rest of the MB a very solid performer. I've got a very basic interum clock of 4.4Ghz on 1.2V with minimum fuss and prime stable (disabling spread spectrum and manually setting up the memory timing and voltage at 1.5V) - with speedstep enabled. I'll probably try for 5Ghz just to see if it's capable but will probably drop back to 4.4GHz for the speedstep.

My only other complaint is thet my idle temps are slightly warm @ 35+ degrees but my load temps are well within tolerance @ 70 so not really a problem.

Basically, the beeps are not a concern - it's a quirk that for some reason MSI don't advertise - or at least that is the general concensus after reading other forums (including MSI's).

Are you planning on clocking yours.? Let me know how you get on as there don't appear to be many people using this mid-range board and, if you don't need the bells and whistles of the GD55/65, the C45 is a cracking board for the money.

EDIT: Surveyor beat me to it - but 2 replies with the same message should put your mind at rest.

Well that's a relief.
With a completely new system, there's always the concern that 1 part could easily be faulty, and the unusual beeps just made me worry (DOA GPU didn't help).

I wasn't planning on OCing it, but I can tell you my idle temps are 30 when idle, and 50 under load (OCCT Linpack). Using A50 cooler. I'm not sure it's 100% accurate though. CPUID HW Mon doesnt work on my system, and Control Centre always shows ~30. Temps are from SpeedFan.
